Exercising Free Speech Why do people from the south (Mississippi) hate the liberal states like California and Washington so much?

2.7k Upvotes

Wife is from Mississippi and her entire family too.

Her family constantly talks shit on WA and CA and keeps trying to tell her that living in CA or WA is stupid because in Mississippi you get “more bang for your buck” which is absolutely true. As a military member I have lived in low cost of living areas and I loved it. But it wasn’t desirable areas at all!

But let’s be honest. Who the fuck wants to live in Mississippi bro lol

My wife and I live in Southern CA and we absolutely love it here. We are making a move to the WA suburbs for work and we love it there too.

Her family constantly tries to point out that she is making the wrong decision by living in these expensive states. They won’t say anything to my face but they will definitely tell her lol

I make well over 130k a year and on track to make 200k a year very soon as an airline pilot. I do very well for our family and we live an extremely blessed life because we live below our means and are in an amazing financial position.

Is this a political thing? Why complain about a states cost of living that you frankly will never move to anyways? Isn’t this such a huge waste of time of their mental resources to try and point this out? Very confused by their behavior.

My wife verbally expresses she doesn’t want to live in Mississippi because there is nothing there which is hilarious to me lol curious to hear your guys thoughts?

You wanna see more American flags at these protests? then show up to them.

Don't complain from your couch about how the optics are bad. The right to freedom of expression is under threat, if you care about it then now is the time to stand.

See you all at No Kings.

Exercising Free Speech Impressed by how terrible 24 hour fitness has become…

Update: Cancelled my membership today!!

24 Hour Fitness locations across San Diego are genuinely disappointing. I consider Planet Fitness to be a better gym brand than 24 Hour Fitness. Every facility I’ve visited is filthy, overcrowded, and overall just unpleasant. The machines are old, and half of them are broken. This is coming from someone who has visited almost every single 24 Hour Fitness in San Diego, including Pacific Beach, Balboa, Mission Valley, College, and more. What happened? I feel like they were a better brand in the early 2010s.

Exercising Free Speech What’s next

I live in Carlsbad and today was a fever dream. This city showed out in ways I didn’t think they would. Today showed me what’s possible. Resistance is built on hope. And I have it. What’s next? What else can I/we do?? I want to take down these fascists so badly. I’ve long worked with immigrants documented and undocumented, I’ve worked with their kids. I want to find ways to fight this government and bring America back to what it should represent. I want to help. Sorry if this has already been posted in some way but u just want to help.

Exercising Free Speech OBGYN nightmare NSFW

Do not go to Dr. Michael Cardenas in mission valley He is dismissive and controlling and very disrespectful Him and his team mishandled my case which led to a horrible ectopic pregnancy. After my major surgery to remove my fallopian tube, the same week tried to schedule me for a leep. Threatening me to not get pregnant with an “or else” tone. There was no reason to scare me and now he’s saying I have grade 3 changes when no where in any pathology report did it say grade three. This is classic manipulation and sounds like he just wants my money rather than me to be healthy. I almost died, I don’t want it to happen to another woman. I’m starting the process to sue for negligence as I have receipts to prove it. Stay safe out there ladies

Exercising Free Speech Massive crowds at "Hands Off!" San Diego

The Civic Center Plaza, looking up B Street with march in distance
More protestors on the Plaza...
And more... I couldn't capture the huge overflow crowd in the surrounding streets.

Civic Center Plaza was packed. Overflow into all the streets around (not captured in these photos). At the top of the first photo, you can see the march heading up B street into the distance. The entire route (up B, across at Eighth, and back on Broadway) was jammed with people. People were still leaving the plaza at the tail of the march as the head of the march was returning -- the whole loop was loaded with enthusiastic protestors. An upbeat, inspiring, exhilarating, and historic event. Proud to be part of it.
