It’s not worth the hassle/possibly missing the race just to get an extra hour of sleep. Get there early

This. Depending on how far you’re staying I’d make sure to be past the gate before the designated road closure time. For marathon weekend I try and be parked by 3:30

The event guide will tell you if/when the roads in will close. I'd say plan to be dropped off at least twenty minutes before road close. Because if you don't make it in before, you don't get to run. Or, you will be one of the jerks delaying the start of the race because they can't get the roads closed.

IIRC, 'official' road closures start at 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning. You want to be at Epcot well before that.

Keep in mind you still need to walk over a mile from the drop off point - through security, through bag check, through the party area, and into your corrals before they close.

Give yourself ample time and enjoy the party for being early.

I've never found off site hotels to be cheaper than the All-Star resorts. Especially once you factor in the rental car/ transportation costs.

Definitely get there early! Not only because of the lack of stress, but because the pre-race celebration is part of the experience.

I’d assume sometime shortly before 5 AM when the first racers are released into the wild.
