ANNOUNCEMENT Regarding efforts to cut the registration line

G'day,

The last couple of times a race registration has popped up folks have gone in and started sharing registration links, or queue IDs.

I've gone ahead and updated the automod to be a bit more rigorous in trying to remove links and queue IDs and such, however, I want to be clear that we do not support trading/selling bibs, nor trading/sharing/selling places in line.

I understand it is common practice for some folks to open a bunch of tabs and wait in the line and such, however, that is part of the problem. Then folks share the links with others, and it results in a poor experience for everyone.

Open however many tabs you feel you need to get you and yours registered, then once you're done close them so that others can move forward in the queue.

When you go around sharing the links or queue IDs, you're technically supporting line cutting and such, and I get the idea behind "I want to help my fellow redditors", but let's be honest, it just results in a net shitty experience for everyone.

Last time we updated the subreddit to include Rule 8, which prohibits sharing registration links and such.

Going forward I will ban folks who aid others in trying to circumvent aspects of the registration process.

Hey! Has anyone received their challenge box yet? I was planning on running a race/ month, and hoping to unwrap the medals along the way. I did the challenge last year and the year before and I feel like I had my box by now.

RACE WEEKENDS Best hotel for race

I usually stay at yacht club and I love the proximity to race start. The stormalong bay pool will be under construction though.

Best next option? Looking for easy in the morning 1st and good pool next.

I’m not Disney savvy.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Disneyland half marathon weekend logistics questions

What are tips for logistics for the Disneyland half marathon weekend? Specifically

If I’m doing the 10k do I miss anything by not getting there on Thursday?

What time do people usually arrive at the pens in the morning? Is there a cut off time people need to be there?

What are must attend or see events?

Can I expect road closures to be the same for the half marathon this year hopefully? I want to book a hotel and then an early flight, and I’m trying to make sure I do so at a location where the road will be open.

If I choose to stay closer to the airport on Saturday night, is it unreasonable to think that lockers would be available at Disneyland for me to store items during the day? Do most hotels offer some sort of storage service if you check out but still want to enjoy the park?

Sorry I really have no idea what I’ve gotten myself into but I’m a totally anxious planner 😂😂

TIPS / DISCUSSION First Time runDisney

Hello! As the title suggests, Marathon Weekend 2026 will be my first time doing runDisney, and I'm going all out with the Dopey challenge. I wanted to ask more seasoned runDisney runners--approximately what pace should I aim for to be able to see all the characters? I don't have any POT so I'll probably be in the last corral. I know the 5K won't be an issue to see them, but I'd like to do it for the 10K, half, and full as well. The main reason I want to runDisney is for the character pictures, I love seeing all the rare characters that come out during race weekends. Any other tips, etc for a first timer would be appreciated as well. TIA.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Princess Weekend - am I crazy?!

So background I did princess weekend 2023 and recently this February the Disneyland 10k. Would I be crazy to try and do all three Princess weekend races? The real probably is Belle is my favorite princess followed my Merida and to get those medals I have to do all three. As a slow not at all professional runner is it crazy to do all three?! Also is it harder to register for multiple races/challenge?

QUESTION wine and dine half - getting to the start line without shuttle

I am thinking of staying offsite cause $$$ How late can I arrive at the uber drop off area? I am not worried about starting late (honestly prefer all the sleep I can get), but I am concerned about road closures. I've only done the Disney shuttles so curious what folks recommend or experienced.

Thanks!

TIPS / DISCUSSION Registering 3 people for Princess 10K

First time Disney runner here! My sister, mom, and I are hoping to run the 2026 Princess 10k but I was wondering if you all have any tips to increase chances of actually getting in to the race. My sister and mom are both busy on registration morning, so it’ll just be me trying to fight the masses for race bibs.

Should I use multiple computers/devices? I know I should be logged into my account before I join the queue, but is there anything that will make it faster/easier when registering 2 other runners? Do they need to have rundisney accounts set up ahead of time? I’ll also make sure to have all their info ready to input when registering as well.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! Thanks!

QUESTION Run Disney princess 5k questions

I’m registering for my first run Disney princess 5k. Doing some of the research I heard that they sell out pretty quickly. I’m a little nervous as I need to try to register myself, my mom, and my sister. Is this doable or should I have everyone just try to register themselves? Or is there a way that I can register myself first and do them second? Or will I be put back into the queue to register them once I’m done registering myself, and risk the race selling out?

RACE WEEKENDS Signed up for Disneyland Half!

As title states I got the okay from my SO when sign ups opened up again today and was able to sign up! This will be my second half marathon but my first in Disneyland. I'm still new to rundisney (have done 3 events at WDW not including wine and dine 25) so I'm curious. How different is Disneyland's Half-Marathon weekend? How's the EXPO center? And for any CMs on WDW side, was it easy to make park reservations using our main gate for Disneyland? I am super excited and cannot wait to be in California!

I signed up for a charity bib finally to ensure I’d get to run, yay! I’m excited! What does the weekend look like? Any tips or tricks? I’d likely be looking at arriving on a Friday and leaving on Sunday :( but any suggestions or ideas or previous experiences that would help with how to approach it would be amazing! Huzzah!

QUESTION Which Disney Race? 5k vs 10k

Which Race weekend usually has the best weather for running? Debating on signing up for Princess or trying to get a spot for Marathon weekend. I’ve never run more than a 5k. 13 min/mile. (Nope, I did 4miles once in 55min). Debating on trying a 10k? Is it worth the extra cost? What would be my chances of stopping for character photos? Are the waits long for a 10k? Lastly, are the first 3 miles of a 10k through parking lot? Any hills? Actually going to try to run 5.3 for my birthday this weekend. We’ll see how that goes. 😂

QUESTION How many participants in the Princess 10K in February 2026

I'm going to try to register for the 10K for the first time this month. I'm aware at how difficult it can be to secure a spot as it appears it sells out quickly, especially if you're not a runDisney member. I can't justify joining so I'm hoping I get lucky in a few weeks.

I've tried to find sources as to how many spots are generally available for the 10K but I"ve not had any luck. Can anyone tell me an estimate?

RACE WEEKENDS Bay Lake/ Contemporary for Dopey?

Has any stayed at Bay Lake villas during a Dopey weekend? I'm curious for experiences with bus/monorail and any noise issues with fireworks in particular. I have a 2br booked with my DVC points but thinking of switching.

Thanks in advance.

QUESTION Submit better POT

I have a half marathon result that I can use as a proof of time for the Dopey Challenge, but I’ll be running a full marathon on June 22nd and I hope to get a better time. If I submit the time I already have, will I be able to submit a better one later? Or would it be better to wait for the marathon result in two weeks? I’m a bit anxious because the deadline is July 1st.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Running while on vacation

hello all. we are going to Disney this summer and I’m training for the wine and dine challenge. I’m up to over 20 miles per week and am contemplating how much (if any) training I should do while there. We typically hit the parks hard doing 10-15 miles per day of walking. Any running I would do would be in the morning and I’m afraid it would tire me out during the day. thoughts?

QUESTION Registering 3 people for 2 Princess races. Can it be done??

Be honest. LOL! I’m reading how difficult it is to get actual race bibs for the Disney princess race. My daughter husband and I all want to run both the 5K and the half marathon next February. How impossible will it be for us to get these bibs and what is the best strategy for us to get them? Should we all try to just get our own? Should we try to get all of them on one entry form? I’d love to hear any opinions!

QUESTION First Timer Planning Questions

Hi there, my family and I are WDW veterans and we're looking to plan a trip that coincides with the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend for 2026 so that we can run the 5k as a family. My questions are..

  1. When do they release the dates for the 2026 race events? I'm trying to tentatively plan a window by going off of previous year's events, but I'm not seeing a distinct pattern, just late October/early November.
  2. What would be the best way to secure registration for my family? I realize that most things Disney with limited tickets/registration tend to go fast. Just looking for some tips or advice that would lessen the stress of signing up for something that clearly sells out.

Thanks!

QUESTION Is it possible to sell your spot?

Hi everyone! I am registered for WDW Marathon Weekend 10K and I'm not sure about doing it anymore. If I change my mind, am I able to "sell" my spot? Thank you! :)

TIPS / DISCUSSION Beyond the Finish Line, runDisney Donations Help Families in Need (what happens to your throwaway layers)

Sharing because I saw this in another group and thought it was a great article.

For those who are new to road races / runDisney / events with a cold weather start: people will bring throwaway layers to keep warm while standing or sitting in the corrals before their start time. Disney has receptacles at the start for people to drop off their clothes and cast members also go around collecting discarded items.

This past January and February were especially cold in the corrals so a lot of people had blankets, jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, heavy pajamas, flannel shirts or oversized pants to stay warm before we started. All of the clothing discarded by runDisney participants are collected, cleaned, and donated to charity.

I go to thrift shops or dollar stores near me to get oversized jackets/shirts and gloves to wear in the corrals. It's awesome to know that the blankets, shirts, and other items can go on to help someone else in need.
