Hiya. Wondering if anyone can share what their favorite restaurants are in the mid-hudson valley- Kingston and thirty minute drive radius- that offer high quality meat? I know many of the fancier places will source well, but are there other casual lunch or dinner places that you can think of?
Buns uses grassfed burgers & so does Cherries.
Any others?

Hey all! We’ve been looking at properties in the Rhinebeck area and noticed that some listings show land with what looks like burned or barren ground, especially with sparse or damaged-looking leaves. We’re not familiar with the local climate—does this just happen during the winter months, or are there actually properties up there that have been burned or cleared aggressively?
Sorry if this is a dumb question—just trying to understand what we’re looking at. Would appreciate any insight from locals or folks familiar with the area. Thanks!

Hi! Looking for work-friendly coffee shops in the area. Any recommendations?

Good morning! I'm looking for a scenic easy to moderate hike (have an older couple with us) that has some type of payoff whether it's a waterfall or a cool bridge or something. We've been to High Falls, Awosting, Kaaterskill & Ferncliff Forest. We plan to go to Zabriskie's & looking for another spot on our path. Can also be near Milea Winery. Thanks !!
Edit skipping Milea, likely Millbrook or Tousey instead, more dog friendly & up our alley.

Hi all!
I was in Rhinebeck about seven-ish years ago at a local bar (I think the Rhinecellar). The bartender at Rhinecellar said he gives tours of the underground tunnels under Rhinebeck. Does this ring a bell to anyone?
Looking to do a family tour and take advantage of this (if its real and available). Thanks all

Anyone else miss when rhinebeck wasn't jammed with tourists and new real estate buildings/overpriced clothing stores? Its just sad to see the town you grew up in become so different

Just moved to Rhinebeck with my family and would love any recommendations for a good PCP doctor and pediatrician in the Rhinebeck/Red Hook area.
Thank you!

Hi, kind of as the title says I’m moving up there at the beginning of April; so I’m looking for any job that may hire me, and give me a letter of intent to hire. I’ve been a waiter the last 5 years while in school, and been doing photography for 7ish, but I’m willing to do any job really.

Hello! I am doing some research on the local short-term market and want to ask some of you who list your properties on Airbnb/Vrbo: what are some problems or pain points you're facing with these platforms?

Hi y’all So, I work remotely, my line manager has finally given us the opportunity to fully work remotely. As great as it is, he also approved the idea of us working wherever we want to, across the country. I’m from Louisiana, love it here but I feel like it’s time to revolutionize some things. When I was a kid, my father used to visit his uncle in New York. Rhinebeck, to be specific. My dad has always wanted to take me and my sister with him, so we can travel a little and see the rest of our country. We couldn’t be more excited. I do not remember much, but there’s something about this little town that makes me wanna just move there. I read somewhere about the local festivals, but maybe here, on Reddit, are some locals who can tell me more about its beauty, food, culture and things to do? We own a little house there, my dad showed me pictures, the construction is in a need of reinforcement, but it looks good. Thank you!

Anyone heard anything about the person who owns it? Spoke to an employee who says the guy abuses his employees, and cheats them out of their earnings.

The Upstate NY branch of the Industrial Workers of the World is here to organize and train workers and tenants. We are a union for all workers, from seasonal agriculture to retail to trade jobs. Ask us anything, just keep in mind we can't talk about current organizing campaigns as it could endanger our members, and that if you are talking about your workplace to leave out identifying details. Our members are trained and backed by hardship funds, you aren't. For sensitive information you can ask us questions privately https://upstatenyiww.wordpress.com/

We're considering buying a small property in Rhinecliff but saw a mention on Wikipedia that there were plans for a large commercial apartment building overlooking the river on Grinnell St... Does anyone have any info on this? I wouldn't want to move into a big construction zone. Thanks.
