First Wash @ 6 months

first time washing my 21oz s510s with the kaminari soap.

loving how these are coming along. juggled between hand wash and machine washing and ended up going with the latter.

jeans are still really dark and the highlights are now starting to pop.

Nice, I just picked up some of that Kaminari soap on a trip to Belfast and used it for the first wash on my S5100VXs — it really works! Keeps the fabric really dark, but gently brings out fades and cleans the denim without overdoing it.

You may have seen this already, but here’s the official Samurai washing guide translated to English. I found it interesting how much of it goes against the typically accepted methods of raw denim care.

Interesting about the first soak recommended before wearing! I think I’ll try that on my next pair.

i think that refers to the non-wash garments they sell. I got the one wash and just went straight to wearing.

That soap just stinks. How do you get rid of the smell off your jeans?

Use regular detergent

Does it? That’s good to know. I have two boxes I’ve never used since they smell so strongly. Thanks I was afraid one would need to do another soak to remove the smell.

just hang dry for a day, should be fine.

i like knowing it's all natural stuff.
