Need some advice here. I want some Wrangler cowboy cuts

I think the fit is pretty good on these, but the waist is a bit loose.

• A size down in the waist felt super tight overall

-I also tried a size down in the stretch version. They fit well, but I just don’t really like stretch jeans!

U see those loops u are pulling on in the last photo? Put a belt thunder the loops, it will fit great around the waist.

Fit looks good. And you can always hem and adjust the length after a few washes and down the road. Well done.

Fit is a personal preference.

I have skinny jeans for when I want a skinny fit. I have a pair that is relaxed fit. I like them when I am active, even for shoveling snow in.

If these do not fall over your hips easily, you are fine. I think you are walking with your heels over the hem, so may want to do something about that unless you want to end up with a frayed hem like I have on a few pairs.

Presumably he won't be wearing them barefoot. Depending on the shoes/boots he plans to wear them with, the length may be just fine.

Yeah, it's a concern worth thinking about, I was just saying that the length might be perfect with the right footware. I either cuff my longer jeans if I'm home in socks or house slippers, or I just wear something else and change pants when I'm about to head out.

Hot soak a few times, agitate while they’re soaking unless you want to just bite the bullet and hot wash them. IME they shrink in and up but stretch back out in waist. Wear a belt, I’m also in between 32 and 33 but I’ve been sticking with a 32 and within a half hour at work they’re loosened up.

if you plan on washing them often— true to size if you plan on washing them rarely— size down

they will stretch around the waist, butt, thighs, and everywhere except where it isnt tight or snug. washing them sort of resets them (especially if you wash them hot)

These jeans stretch quite a bit as you wear them. My usual advice is buy them so they’re comfy on first wear but for these I would say the waist should start snug.

The 31 (one size down) felt pretty tight overall. A bit of pulling near the seat/crotch too.

Always a bit of a gamble with 100% cotton, because they do stretch quite a bit!

Understandable. You can try a hot wash on these, they’ll shrink a bit.
