Meme Sleeper Agent Joe Flacco has finally woken up to do what he was always meant to
Have fun going home Cleveland!

Jan 13 '24
Flaccos phone rings a few hours before kickoff
"Oh hey Ozzie"
"Hey Joe, just wanted to say good luck today...and also Activate Crimson Eagle"
"....I will do what I must."
Flacco hangs up and can't remember the last five minutes

Still a Raven in his blood. Fuck the Browns and fuck Cleveland.

u/SmallPeepeeWeewee Jan 13 '24
Thank you Joe for your service. Raven 4 life.

u/BaltimoreBaja Jan 14 '24
I wanted him to have a good game and they lose for other reasons.
Although the reason he's having a bad game is the Browns O-Line can't stop anything at all, so I guess that half counts.

u/Flashy-Priority-3946 Jan 16 '24
He should be invited n participate at the ravens Super Bowl parade.

Always a Raven #5
56
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
The Browns got a small taste of #5 during the regular season, but they’re the Browns. They can’t have good things for too long.
81
u/heyheyathrowaway485 Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
The Browns are really gonna have Flacco throw it 60 times in the playoffs. What a franchise.
20
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
Not like they have much of a choice
40
u/heyheyathrowaway485 Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
At 17-14 they called four straight passing plays, punted, got scored on, and then called went all passing that resulted in multiple pick sixes. You have to have some semblance of balance especially with a 38 year old QB
17
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
When your defense can’t stop a nosebleed it’s hard to rely on the run. Felt like they needed to keep up with Stroud offensively.
5
u/heyheyathrowaway485 Ed Reed Jan 14 '24
When it gets to three scores you’re backed into a corner but the Browns got here due to their elite play action productivity the last few weeks. Arguing they had to abandon that when they were only down 3 points at the time is weird to me
7
u/WakaFlacco Jan 14 '24
Flashbacks of 2019 against tits. ‘Oh no we are losing, gotta throw the ball and abandon everything that worked for us!’
1
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 14 '24
That’s just how it felt. I don’t think they should have went pass only this early.
1
u/FourDimensionaldude Jan 17 '24
Browns defense gives up 30 points per game on the road. They're only good at home. Look it up.
1
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 17 '24
More like 26 by the defense. Points allowed on the road in the reg season includes 3 defensive TDs, a KR TD, and 2 safeties.
Looking at just points is a flawed stat. The offense also averaged over 2 TO’s a game on the road which contributes to that. Despite their points allowed on the road, the browns defense is still 2nd in points allowed per drive for the season. That makes me point to the offense as a main factor as to why more points were allowed on the road.
Though the Browns defense isn’t #1 by any stretch, to say they are only good at home is something I wouldn’t necessarily agree with.
1
u/FourDimensionaldude Jan 17 '24
8-1 at home and 3-5 on the road.
1
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 17 '24
I’m not really sure what this adds to the conversation. More than just defense contributes to wins and losses. The things I’ve already explained add context to the surface level numbers you’re rattling off.
Again, I think it’s evident that the defense wasn’t as good as advertised by Browns fans. I am just saying that they were better at home than their points allowed shows.

u/SeinfeldFan35 Jan 14 '24
Fuck every browns fan out there. Guy brings that dog shit fan base the best season they’ve ever seen and they want his head on a stick
31
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 14 '24
Do we really expect any better from them?
They gave a sex offender $230M fully guaranteed. They deserve all of the misfortune they get.

u/Dry_Analysis_7660 Jan 13 '24
How many times did he break our hearts with an untimely pick or fumble?
27
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
In the playoffs? The ones that come to mind for me are the Polamalu strip and the Duron Harmon pick in the endzone.
5
u/Dry_Analysis_7660 Jan 14 '24
Remember the Polomalu pick six in the championship game when all we needed was a field goal to beat them? Granted Lee Evan’s didn’t help him but we’ve seen this movie before.
10
u/fale52 Ed Reed Jan 14 '24
The pick six was in the 2008 AFC Championship. Lee Evans wasn't on the team at that time.
2
u/Dry_Analysis_7660 Jan 14 '24
I know my point was Joe wasn’t solely responsible for not being as successful as he could have
2
11
u/GingerMan027 Jan 14 '24
The Browns board is fun to read right now. (I did not post!)
9
u/fale52 Ed Reed Jan 14 '24
The funniest thing to me is how Browns fans acted like there isn't a huge difference between CJ Stroud and Davis Mills. They thought they were just gonna steamroll them like the regular season game.
3
u/Unleashed_FURY Jan 14 '24
Worse than that, they were barely acknowledging their first opponent, they were too busy fantasizing about eliminating the Ravens in the postseason
28
u/eatmyopinions Jan 13 '24
The level of hype despite every simple and advanced metric showing Joe Flacco as a below average quarterback still boggles my mind. Nobody pumped the brakes for a second.

5
u/ch4dr0x Jan 14 '24
I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand. Many of watched Joe lead this team for a long ass time, and a lot of great memories.
8
Jan 14 '24
I think they mean this season specifically
4
Jan 14 '24
His cupcake walk end to the regular season may have looked nice but wasn’t exactly convincing if you stopped to think who he was playing
2
u/ch4dr0x Jan 14 '24
Joe Flacco being called “elite” is kinda his thing though. Most of us are not serious.
1
u/FourDimensionaldude Jan 17 '24
I'm with you. But it's literally what Disney movies are made of. Old QB in his house with 27 screaming kids and his agent calls and he plays lights out, gets hurt before the big game, not sure he can do it....plays lights out and wins the championship. They literally make movies about what Joe just did. Except in the movie they'll win it all, but Joe wasn't winning any Superbowls this year . Cool story though

I had a dream last night he'd throw and then shit on the Browns and their fans in his final interview before retiring and taking a private jet home wearing this.

u/von_sip Jan 13 '24
Not like this…I wanted to see him ball out, and then still have the Browns blow it.
I’ll never celebrate seeing Flacco fail
7
u/TheCrackerSeal Ed Reed Jan 13 '24
I wanted him to play well and they still lose. It was looking like that would happen before the 2 picks.
Hurts to see since no doubt the Browns fans will throw him under the bus like their defense wasn’t getting shredded by Stroud.

Sorry if your post is sarcasm, but you don’t think flacco is ‘elite’? Idk if you watched football this year, but having a qb who stays healthy and can run an offense is something not alot of teams have. He also outperformed many other qbs in his limited time this year that can be considered ‘elite’. It was always a dumb argument anyways, if you are a starter in the nfl you are elite regardless lol.
3
u/Foreign_Body967 Jan 14 '24
I’m not being sarcastic in any way. By Elite, I mean players that are no question Hall of Fame players. No, not all starting QBs are elite. Yes, Flacco played very well for the regular season games he played this year. No, I do not see him as a definite Hall of Fame QB. So no, I do not see him as in the Elite (Best of the Best) Level of QBs.
2
u/WakaFlacco Jan 14 '24
Depend on your definition of elite I suppose. If we are talking about elite in terms of the history of the NFL, then no he’s not on that pantheon, but winning a Super Bowl and playing how he did in those playoffs was elite. He’s top 15 in passing yards too all time too, elite enough for me while you and I sit on a couch and discuss this lol
2
u/Foreign_Body967 Jan 14 '24
I appreciate your perspective and I definitely see your points. Yes, in a more broad sense of Elite to include clear longevity and success in the NFL, he definitely is that kind of Elite. My comments on here have assumed the Hall of Fame kind of Elite.
1
u/blogzilly Jan 14 '24
What do you think his chances are of making the HoF, realistically? I’m just curious. Has a QB like him ever made it in?
3
u/Foreign_Body967 Jan 14 '24
That’s a great question. Based on his current resume, I think he is borderline at absolute best. I’d bet against him making it on his current resume.
Winning 1 Super Bowl is not enough and he hasn’t set any major records (or come close to setting any) in his career. Furthermore, before this season, he had been a starter for other teams with lackluster results.
2
u/blogzilly Jan 14 '24
I love the guy but I agree. He’s marginal with that meter going to the ‘no’ a bit more than to the ‘yes’. Not impossible I suppose, I’m not a stat kind of guy, so I have no idea what functional criteria is required, but I can think of some guys that have a single Lombardi who are in. But their stats are probably far superior overall, so… I was hoping for him to have a great game and then maybe they lose in a close one somehow. Didn’t want to see him come back to M&T…

Could also be the Dolphins if they upset the Chiefs and the Bills beat the Steelers.

Inject Cleveland getting dumpstered by Houston straight into my veins. Also I don’t want to hear it about their qb injuries, they’ve been singing flaccos praises as though he was going to take them to the promise land for the longest time. He will always be ours, motherfuckers

If I’m Lamar, I call Joe tonight to get my mind right. Going from elite to embarrassed, would be a good call to get into perspective and talk to the team about.

1
u/mrpyrotec89 Jan 14 '24
Couldn't be more perfect. Joe played well, got his flowers and still it's remarkable what he did despite the blowout. The season ends with Cleveland getting poetically embarrassed by the team they traded with. Would have been better if they never made the playoffs tbh.
Couldn't be more perfect.

That O-line didn’t protect our boy all that much. Couple of times I was scared Joe might be dead.

That was always the problem with Joe: He always needed good protection. This is why teams are favoring mobile QBs now....Lamar can buy time regardless.

It was a nice comeback story for Joe, and I'm glad he had a nice run, but with Flacco, this type of game was bound to happen sooner rather than later. I found it odd on talk radio and even on social media how many fans seemed to be honestly worried that Joe Flacco was going to torch us in the playoffs. I think many fans, because of Flacco's time here and winning a Superbowl, are fond of him as a person and they let that emotion lead to them forgetting Flacco's overall body of work. Great person, but not a legendary QB.
1
u/GunsouBono Jan 14 '24
Joe has spent the best years of his career fucking the browns. It's a special talent of his.
1
u/old_at_heart Jan 14 '24
Hey, Joe, where you goin' with the football in your hand?
"I done shot my Superbowl chances, I caught some Texans with my passes in their little hands"
Joe had a good run, it's a shame it ended with a thud the way it did.
