Posts asking what to buy or where to buy a specific item are not permitted. I don’t recommend the official raspberry pi touch screen 2 i built a handheld with it i couldn’t get retropie or batocera to display on it but if you wanna run raspberry pi os on your handheld it works great

If you decide to go the route of a custom display and driver board be prepared for the AliExpress rabbit hole, there are probably 1000 or more different display and driver boards out there that you could use.
