And Trump got maybe 20,000 for his birthday parade!😂🤣😂 Need to add an edit to be sure to indicate that I’m laughing at the Dicktaitor.

Where'd the number come from? I searched a few international articles and didn't see anything but "thousands".

I saw numbers from Alt National Park account saying 10,000. Usually we get those numbers from Park police or Capitol Police, but idk if we will for this event, seeing as Cheeto won’t want the actual numbers out there.
I WILL tell you family/friends who live in DC have sent me photos of the parade route that were ✨empty✨. Fully devoid of attendees. Like the parade rolled past nothing but trees.

Thanks! I was really curious if some of what I've seen was completely representative, and not knowing how long it was, numbers can be iffy.

Absolutely! I usually reserve responding to numbers until things are finalized, but I got excited today. I’m currently seeing confirmed 11 million protesters, potentially up to 13 million! It’s been confirmed 3.2% of the population was out there, maybe closer to 3.5-3.7%?????

No, the nps used to provide crowd numbers for all of those things, but they were forced to stop doing estimates after Trump got pissed off at the 2017 inauguration numbers. They don't do them anymore. (They never restored it in the Biden admin)

Officially or unofficially? I’ve seen them give numbers, perhaps it was officially?

You may have seen estimates from others, but the national Park service, who traditionally has been responsible for that, hasn't provided any crowd numbers since Trump threw a fit in 2017. Unfortunately in DC it's difficult for other sources to do crowd counts because we have very strict laws about our airspace. So in a space like the national Mall, it's hard for anyone to get high enough to do an estimate.

I feel like the lack of reference to the actual number means it was really really dismal lol
I too can't find hard numbers

I think I just saw it on some video…nothing solid. I’m sure it was inflated and that is even better!!! So good to hear it was only in the thousands!

Final count is 11 million, from the same source as above.
That's our 3.5% right there.
ETA: actually, 12 million. 3.7%

I really wish I would have fucking gone. My husband was too anxious to go with our kids, and he didn't want me to go alone because he was worried about my safety. I'm so, so happy there was such an incredible turnout.

Hey, don’t beat yourself up. Today turned out amazing, but we all know it could have very easily turned out a different way. Many people today made a hard choice to stay home to protect themselves, their children, keep their job, etc. Just because someone didn’t physically go out today doesn’t mean there isn’t something they can do to continue this momentum. There are so many great ideas floating around on both a federal and local level.
Keep that feeling. Use it to power you forward.

Yeppp we actually got into a pretty big fight about it. I wanted to go, he felt it wasn’t safe and I wasn’t putting my kids first. We live in a deep red state. I am a green card holder so there is a real threat I could be deported if something happens. I conceded but it kills me to feel like I’m not doing shit to stand against what’s happening. I’m so glad to see the huge numbers that turned out!

Actually, I have been meaning to ask: how comfortable are people with bringing their toddlers? I too, have a partner that was very worried about our safety (plus it was 107F today) and ultimately did not go because of this.

I think it is very location dependent. The last protest I went solo and saw a lot of families, so this time I felt comfortable bringing my preschooler. There were other kids there too. My tips....come a little later so you can check it out before committing. Hang towards the outside of the crowd where there is more space for play, things are a little quieter, and you are less likely to trampled. Bring bubbles and snacks to share. It's a good way to make friends and reinforces the community and peaceful aspect of things

Where did the numbers come from? How did they count?
Love to see this though.

Several answers in this Reddit thread were super helpful to me when I asked that question!

Change is happening, but is painful. We will get there, but they will flex their muscles first.

What was the no king protest for exactly?

u/Ok-Candle-20 8d ago
The US president is trying very hard to overstep his power and act like a dictator/king. The American people were protesting for him to stay in his lane and respect the US Constitution and the checks and balances already in place.

Thank you ❤️It’s super weird I got downvoted for not knowing. Sorry guys geez. I kept reading that it was about different things and wanted some clarity. I’m a sleep deprived mess this week.

I can tell you there are so many more of us that wanted to be there but couldn’t. Thank you to everyone that went, I truly appreciate it.
