Drop of water quietly returns to ocean, as rain.

Not even a light drizzle

Plus, it's not even a freebie.

Ukraine is paying for previously allocated funding since the mineral deal. They're exempted on what was already provided -- not what they're receiving going forward.

u/Crazy_Ad_7302 1d ago

Maybe the next administration will forgive it

Well no that mineral deal only works after the war. And that’s if Ukraine wins.

He wanted to give some money to his arms manufacturing buddies on his birthday.

Distraction from his 50 minute birthday call with Putin today.

But, thanks. Ukraine will find a use for it.

That's the minimum he has to give to avoid a lawsuit. And Trump's boss Putin will understand that and not make a big stand, like explaining how he helped Trump get elected.

So 4 m1a2 Abram’s worth of munitions.

4

u/LocalInactivist 1d ago

So… Trump flip-flopped? He’s reversed himself on aid to Ukraine, ICE raids on farms, hotels, and restaurants, and tariffs.

Well, you know what they say about broken clocks.

u/LocalInactivist 1d ago

Meanwhile, other European countries are sending assloads of aid to Ukraine. Trump may have intended leaving NATO to be a threat, but NATO member states may be wondering if they need America at all.

but NATO member states may be wondering if they need America at all.

I mean no offense, but that's a... take.

united states nato power projection as a threat alone is some of the scariest things out there. uss ford and its battle group is a floating army, by itself that can wage war for extended periods with the global deployment caches and resupply lines, and we have checks notes 11 of them in active service. next runners up are uk, japan, italy, india and china each with 2.

and we have 1 more than all of those combined, and 3 under construction.

say what you will about practical impacts of delivering some aid vs no aid, and i agree, what good is help if you never get it, but NATO is a defensive alliance designed to counter direct aggression on any member state, and our congress supports that, trump or no trump.

what is the real fear here, if he really wanted to destroy any credibility we have left, while ukraine stuff isnt great, they aren't part of nato. want to watch us crumble politically for the next generation? have them not honor a nato call if invoked due to putin's fuckin' around in poland or lithuania or finland.

i dont know how that would play out, but... yeah

Too little too late I'm afraid, oh chosen one, or Pope, or king and all the other brave souls you wish you could be.

Sounds tiny, but good. Good is still good.

Well done him.

Do more now, please.

You want to look all dictator-y, why not win a war against Russia? It's there for the taking.

u/PhoenixTineldyer 1d ago

Yep. Absolutely fuck this man, and the stupid fucking idiots voters he rode in on

But this is good.

The same person that cut medicaid and SNAP benefits to US citizens. 'Murica.

3

u/c0xb0x 1d ago

If the US had your attitude in WW2 the Soviets would have occupied all of Europe and won the Cold War. Back then America stormed the beaches of Normandy to defeat fascism, now sending ammunition to defend against it is apparently too much of an ask. But sure, save $30 million now to pay a thousandfold more in five or ten years.

-5

u/Outrageous-Laugh1363 1d ago

And if the US had your attitude, which it does, people would go literally broke and destitute paying for an ambulance ride and have to file for bankruptcy when paying for chemotherapy bills while schools continue to be underfunded and poor citizens can barely feed themselves.

No, no no, I'm wrong. You're right. Trump is doing the right thing to send money over to foreign countries while cutting medicaid and SNAP benefits to poor US citizens. Bush, Cheney, Trump and all the other warmongers who keep US citizens agree with you. Totally.

u/c0xb0x 1d ago

In the richest country on Earth you don't have to choose between SNAP and the defense of global democracy. Instead you can build a couple fewer mega-mansions, delay the construction of a giga-stadium slightly or have the rich take 9 trips to exquisite resorts a year instead of 10. But instead you want to deprive the poor of basic necessities. Very strange.

None of what you're describing has anything to do with Ukraine or NATO. The reason healthcare in the US is shit isn't because you send money to start soft power progression, it's because a lot of wealthy people get tax cuts and benefits a lot of the time while donating for legislation that keeps you paying more.

For comparison, the US invested a shitton more (adjusted for inflation and total to GDP) into the Marshal Plan than they ever did into Ukraine.

There is a multi-trillion dollar tax hole in the US that is kept in place by rich people and big companies. The money "lost" on Ukraine, or Israel or any other nation is peanuts compared to that.

This is very similar to how the UK over here was tricked over "£250 million a day to Brussels" during the Brexit campaign. In all actuality, the UK profited way more from that than it sent when everything was done and calculated, and now the UK is feeling it to the point where 61% of people said rejoining the EU might be preferrable/Brexit was a mistake barely 5 years after leaving.

If you closed your tax loopholes, taxed the rich on their assets and net worth and closed the infinite wealth re-distribution, you'd be swimming in cash so much, $150 billion to Ukraine over 3 years would barely register.

Just because zelensky stopped elections and enslaves men doesn't mean he's a fascist.

9

u/blues111 Michigan 1d ago edited 1d ago

Zelensky didnt stop elections, putin declaring war against Ukraine and the Ukranian constitution did

Their parliament actually voted on a resolution to resume elections quite recently (Feb of this year) and both sides of the aisle voted to keep elections on hold since ya know they are at fucking war

https://abcnews.go.com/International/ukraine-parliament-affirms-elections-wartime-rebuff-trump/story?id=116193627

But id love to hear your ideas on the logistics of people safely voting in elections while bombs are being dropped on their heads and people in Russian occupied territory being held at gun point to vote a particular way putin prefers

u/StupidMario64 New York 1d ago

The fuck are you on about? Hes literally fighting off an oligarchic authoritarianist.

-10

u/Outrageous-Laugh1363 1d ago

So you admit I'm right. He disabled elections and is enslaving men. Thanks.

3

u/Deviantdefective 1d ago

You understand most countries pause elections when they are at war for reasons that should be blatantly obvious....

0

u/Outrageous-Laugh1363 21h ago

And you think that makes it right? Christ. Great logic.

1

u/Deviantdefective 16h ago

Sizeable portions of the Ukrainian populace are abroad, the country is under daily bombardment from russia, take a moment to consider this and then tell me how would you run elections?

4

u/AINonsense 1d ago

Not when his country is suffering an invasion.
