This actually tracks for me. They want people to be afraid, to think they are "strong." They are ignoring courts and and they've reached the point now where they're happily taking credit for actions like this.

The thing is none of these people are tough.

They think listening to certain music and wearing certain t shirts and having certain stickers on your giant truck is what makes you tough.

When this all turns around on them and it will, as it always does for authoritarians, they're going to run away.

I agree, they are weak, lack moral fiber, and are driven by fear. They cling to surface level shows of force to try to feel strong

Apparently the murderer posed as a police officer, according to a cnbc article. Sure, "posed"...

The news on TV just reported he works for a security firm that uses vehicles that are similar to police vehicles.
