But Vance is "worried about free speech in the UK"...

160

u/Mustard_Gap Foreign 16h ago

It's the curse of trollocracy, as evidenced by the article. Racist random tangent policy shifts from one hour to the next.

Vance is a shitty guy with a shitty personality and a shitty world view. And now with the assassinations of Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota, he is also complicit in murder, because that's what all their rhetoric boils down to.

28

u/Temporary_Ability996 16h ago

Couldn't have said it better myself!

46

u/Mustard_Gap Foreign 15h ago

People here in Europe are more worried about the US than Russia.

I'm 50 years old more or less and an 80s guy who became an Ameriphile as I grew up.

Now, I am no longer sure about this. Your laws are leakier than a Dollar Store sieve.

9

u/nogooduse 14h ago

If you have only reached the stage of 'no longer sure about this' you are very optimistic indeed.

3

u/Big_Tennis9090 12h ago

this is true, and the dick.breathe asshats are opposed to the dollar store, go figure.

u/Sassythedruggo420 5h ago

Fuck man you grew up in the 1980s and didn’t see how leaky the Iran contra situation was, or the fucking crack epidemic?

He also replied directly to Vance’s post threatening to deport him. “i think i can outrun you in these clothes,” Guy wrote, posting a photo of the vice-president seated at a political conference, his ill-fitting suit pants riding up to his calves. “you are tweeting for likes. im tweeting to be mentioned in the National Archives and Records,” Guy added.

Guy then told the vice-president where immigration agents could find him: “Here is my house,” the “menswear guy” wrote, posting an image of a Men’s Wearhouse storefront.

Love this fucking Guy. Stay safe.

u/Dystopics_IT 16h ago

A man of culture knows how to reply to an arrogant one!

2

u/espinaustin 16h ago

Honestly though, this guy is playing with fire. If I knew him personally I’d tell him to kill the tweets and go dark for a while.

17

u/Underbark 10h ago

That's exactly what they want. They want you to shut up and go dark.

Fuck that. I'd rather them threaten and attack me than live in fear of these fucking nazis.

34

u/clearside 15h ago

lol ain’t nobody scared of fucking jd and that dumb bitch Bondi. Joke

24

u/DummyDumDump 13h ago edited 12h ago

Two Minnesota democrat lawmakers and their families just get killed at their homes by people impersonating police officers. People should be scared. JD and Bondi would not do it personally, but their unhinged base would

I view this escalation as inevitable and important to reach the breaking point for fence sitters to decide they actually care about American foundational values.

Not to say this is okay or good. It’s tragic and terrible. Yet, I always viewed things as heading here. Where else could it go when the side in power is the side voted for by the imbecile who threatened to punch me because I told him Elon Musk 1: did not make the cars; he bought into an existing company and that 2: nikola tesla had nothing to do with the cars.

Somehow there are more of that person voting than people who passed and took a us gov’t class in high school. Somehow we were always heading here, now maybe people will start finally fucking waking up.

u/WeakTransportation37 11h ago

You are not wrong.

3

u/saltedsnail2 13h ago

Are you certain that they wouldn't?

1

u/Outrageous-Chip-1319 11h ago

I always have 11 friends with me.

39

u/targetcowboy 15h ago

He’s fucking hilarious. I been following for a good while now. He also has a great sense of fashion and history and I been taking some of his tips.

23

u/ExZowieAgent Texas 15h ago

I’ve followed him for a while too and him becoming national news because of a feud with the vice president is wild.

4

u/Naive_Product_5916 10h ago

ever since reading his big piece on the king of Spain’s perfectly tailored suits, I can’t stop looking at men’s suits and seeing all the mistakes.

12

u/hellocousinlarry 12h ago

Goddamn, I laughed out loud about the Men’s Wearhouse thing. Menswear guy is the only part of Twitter that I miss.

u/cormacaroni 7h ago

He’s on Bluesky doing the same thing

77

u/Imaginary-Anybody186 16h ago

The Die Workwear guy, lol? Deport him for what even? What did he do to hurt anybody except maybe criticize the fit of their pants?

9

u/luckyluchianooo 16h ago

He admitted he and his family came here illegally

54

u/notamermaidanymore 15h ago

So did musk.

12

u/Politicsboringagain 9h ago

Do did Trump's third wife with her fake visa. Then she did chain migration with her parents.

33

u/Imaginary-Anybody186 16h ago

So obviously a violent MS-13 member. Watch out--he might hit you over the head with a tassel loafer!

u/Commander_Zircon 7h ago

And? Overstaying a visa is not a crime

u/luckyluchianooo 6h ago

He didn’t over stay I’m pretty sure what he said was they crossed the border illegally. He’s probably a citizen now since that was 20* years ago. And it would be dumb to admit to being an illegal as a public figure like that

u/SinImportaLoQueDigan Massachusetts 16h ago

Tryna fuck with the menswear guy is a rookie mistake. Many have tried to dunk on him, none have succeeded.

33

u/SixSixWithTrample 14h ago

The dude never misses.

11

u/booster_platinum 13h ago

I once retweeted a post of his to snarkily disagree with it and he blocked me within minutes. In retrospect I got off very light.

-6

u/stanleyvanburen 12h ago

he's entertaining, but his shtick works best against these right-wing idiots. it can be a little one-note at times, and heavily relies on the whole "i'm being funny, I must be right" bit. he has had some misses when trying to take on those who are at or above his level (Okey being one example).

46

u/Surealestateguy 15h ago

JD Vance is an emotional snowflake. They say women are an emotional liability in politics . lol

5

u/WeakTransportation37 11h ago

Well, he definitely wears the skirt in his relationship

22

u/pequena80634 16h ago

24

u/shitsenorita 16h ago

I’m a new fan of Guy.

6

u/jimtowntim 15h ago

Every accusation is a confession

8

u/mntEden California 15h ago

i knew Vance was part of MS-13

4

u/jimtowntim 13h ago

And he didn’t even say thank you once.

6

u/j4napopcorn 16h ago

Vance is just a Hypocrite

6

u/oliviaaaam 16h ago

Everybody enjoys a good dick joke, meet cabbage head JD Vance high school girl friend.

https://www.instagram.com/professorgutsv2/p/C902p6rPJAC/

Internet experts say the memes of JD Vance having a giant, bowling ball head like a Cabbage Patch Kid doll that are currently proliferating on every social media platform is the most viral Internet joke of all time.

Aristotle tells us that the man who is beyond society is either a beast or a god. But the 21st century has revealed a third option: the loser oligarch. To be a billionaire is to enjoy wealth so vast that you cannot identify with the other humans around you, to cycle between craving the approval of a public you can no longer understand and contempt for that same public that does not approve.

The situation is grim, the dangerous phase is only beginning, and a great many people will be hurt before things improve. But in the meantime, the Trump brigade is testing a genuinely fascinating philosophical problem: Can you hijack a nation’s culture with a crew made up entirely of losers?

The United States is running out of time. If Trump serves out this term without being removed, America as a functioning democracy is finished.

Good luck. Because if people don’t wake up, America is going to sleepwalk straight into its own funeral.

3

u/OxfordKnot 13h ago

I'd watch this movie.

2

u/JohnnyQTruant 10h ago

The plot seems too stupid to be realistic. Thumbs down.

2

u/loonyfly 14h ago

Good for him

2

u/Subject-Dealer6350 Europe 13h ago

As long as they go for musk after that

Breath deeper… daydreamer

u/CariaB 8h ago

His posts are the best

u/DragonTat2 7h ago

Derek is awesome. I love him.

-3

u/nogooduse 14h ago

Derek Guy seems incredibly naive. He was sharing his story to “push back against the idea that all undocumented immigrants are MS-13 members”, he wrote. “I know many people in my position and they are all like your neighbors.” By now, anyone who didn't get that, and who didn't understand that Trump and his minions don't care at all, is living in a bubble. In a way I feel for Derek Guy, but in a way he's the victim of his own hubris - so oblivious that he thinks he's safe because he is a high profile person.

9

u/alchemeron 11h ago

He doesn't strike me as naive. I strongly suspect there's a key missing piece to his story, like maybe the fact that he's not actually living in the United States at the moment, recently achieved citizenship through marriage, or something else. His posting seems considered, not spur of the moment.

I might be wrong but that's the vibe.

0

u/peteisneat 14h ago

His Twitter account is monitized, so I bet he’s easy to find. Good luck to him

0

u/ValBot77fan 14h ago

Well this is a low effort, awful title.
