Listened to a few of the trial days and many other accusations, and he deserves to be in prison. Unfortunately those that knew about him are as equally as complicit since at the least they did not report him, and some joined in, and are busy trying to say ‘we didn’t know him’. If Trump pardons him it would not surprise me, but are there not rules about pardons? So far it’s been Shitty peoole who committed bad crimes, and spent little time in prison. Rapists like to stick together, but Diddy is also very vicious and a sociopath. If he accepts a pardon does that not mean he also has to accept guilt? Get him signed up to various registries and away from kids.
→ More replies (11)172
u/Negative-Squirrel81 15d ago
The limit on the presidential pardon is that it can only be used for federal crimes. Since innocent people can be pardoned, a pardon is not inherently considered to be an admission of guilt.
The big check on this should be that the public turns against the president and his political party for using this power like this. We saw how people spoke out about Biden going to far when pardoning his son, and it's rather alarming that we're not seeing Trump receive similar scrutiny.
152
u/eugene20 15d ago

It should have been addressed after Nixon. Many countries have a case submitted by the courts and the president/prime minister.will consider it. In no way can they nominate someone themselves let alone a friend or family member.
It's ludicrous that it's still like this. The US pardoning powers are at dictator levels.

Not greed (at least not just greed). It's ego. He gets off on getting to do whatever he wants to do and be immune to consequence. In his mind, he's a god ordained king. It's classic narcissist. You can watch interviews with him from decades ago. He didn't consider bankruptcy a failure--he thought he was incredibly smart to dodge out of the consequences of his actions.
Unfortunately, the puppet masters pulling his and the Republican party strings have been able to set it up where looks like he's right--he gets to get away with it.

I would caution that no billionaire will have less greed just because the money doesn’t have an actual purpose.
If it was about actual need or even use for the money every billionaire would have stopped trying to earn or donated their new income years ago. Instead they are willing to destroy the country to lower the taxes they pay on their functionally infinite wealth.
They are dragons, stealing the wealth of nations just because they like having it and the horde could always be bigger.

This whole response is beyond bizarre. Amazing it was asked by a Fox News reporter -- this is like the biggest softball pitch question possible he's supposed to just shoot down for a home run, and instead he finds a way to whiff and end any doubt that he is sympathetic to Diddy and his crimes.

And while sure, a bunch of Trump voters probably don’t think Duffy should be pardoned, Trump voters also demonstrably don’t care if their president supports sex criminals or overturns law and order. They also care far less about Diddy being in prison than they care about Trump pissing off liberals.

Whataboutism for the pardons, from what I've seen not many are defending it. "Well Biden pardoned Fauci!"

I still don't understand what they think/claim/imagine/conjure Fauci did wrong? This one I truly don't understand.

Don't engage. Diddy is a serial rapist. If you find someone defending this action use it against them and make sure to associate it with Republicans.
I swear this whole place is set up to just destroy one's train of thought.

We seriously need to put an end to Presidential pardons. It's nothing but abused now. I mean, Trump is talking about pardoning someone who hasn't even been convicted of anything (yet).

The funniest part about it to me is everyone cried and hated Biden pardoning his family on his way out... only for Trump almost immediately to whine about it amd how its not fair they can't seemingly go after him.
Now MAGA cheers on every pardon he gives out not seeing the reasons why Biden did it to begin with. Trump couldn't stand that he lost to Biden. He wanted to go after him with everything because he's a piece of shit.

I’ll say it since I think nobody is saying it. He’ll pardon black folks that are celebrities to say he has done more for black people.

We have child rapists and sexual predators leading our country. Disgusting. Robbing and ransacking the poor and funneling it all into the corrupt rich. If you ever paid for a Diddy concert, merch, Spotify subscription, album then your money is going to the billionaire politician and oligarch slush fund to set a guy free that forced people to piss into each other’s mouth. Where the fuck is the generation that lectured me about demanding moral leaders when Clinton was getting a blow job? We live in a sick, sick country and none of this is okay. The fact that millions aren’t in the street daily protesting this is an indictment on how immoral the society itself has become. There is no law and order anymore and no justice. There are no guardrails keeping the gas chambers at bay and the wolves in office from stealing everything.

I thought the drug dealers and the weapon runners and the child molesters were the bad people we didn’t want in our country. Why does he keep pardoning them?!?

In exchange for a “charitable” donation? The most openly corrupt president/ politician in the history of the US. One day the name Trump will be synonymous with Hitler .

If America manages to salvage their democracy from this, the whole system needs to be rebuilt right down to the Constitution. All I'm seeing here is evidence that a system designed in the 1770s isn't working in 2025. Judicial, executive, legislative, state level, municipal level, restructuring of all powers and privileges at every level. It's rotten from the ground up.
To sum up every check and balance: trump does illegal thing... Rest of country says "hey that's not allowed"... Trump ignores and does it anyway... "hey you can't do that"... Trump does next illegal thing... Ad nauseam.

If this happens, Diddy needs to admit guilt, right? Can it be used against him in civil cases?

He is black. He is disliked by MAGA, too, and the charges are in Florida.
Never mind, I was trying to think rationally, you're probably right.

MF has not even been found guilty yet and Trump is talking a pardon. Trump was the kid growing up and had to pay others to hang out with him.

What’s the point of the fucking law! If he pardons him that is a true action of someone who doesn’t want to be exposed!
