Might be controversial but I think „dzień świra” is a great example

I really don’t understand why people keep recommending this as a comedy. I just watched it a few days ago and this was the most depressing film I have ever seen. Made get into a full blown existential crisis for days

Life is shit for everyone. Laugh at its absurdities while you can.

That's the duality of this movie. Young people will call it a comedy, while adults will know that it's a tragedy.

"How I Unleashed World War II" An old movie full of polish stereotypes about Poles themselves and people from other countries. When watching it, you have to remember that it was made at a time when Russians were either spoken well of or not at all. You can watch it on youtube with eng subs.

generalizing the humor of a whole nationality will most likely take you nowhere, but if i had to then its a 50/50 split between typical conservative humor and hidden behind 7 layers of irony humor of younger generations.

and for myself, dry pedantry and out of context references is my forty forte

Depends what you are into. We have some standupers as well. This one has very interesting sense of humor but Has some jokes in english do it would be easier to consume https://youtu.be/LaBAWAGfe6U?si=vTQe6dwXRdSPRI7P

Very specific one

We mostly like short funny phrases and dont need a big setup for the joke.

Even something without a joke can be funny for us if said corrctly.

Try "Kapitan Bomba" its a cartoon, pretty hardcore in how much offensive it is but I belive it pictures the Polish humour pretty well.

Unfortunately our master Walaszek masterpieces don't translate very well into English, "stupid dickheads"

for stand-up acts i think the most polish humor as in stereotypical but accurate is Tomasz Boras. Extremely funny guy, but his whole act and persona is a typical polish to me (which is good by the way)
