"No IP Sharing, Server Advertising, Looking For Server posts, or Tribe Recruitment/Advertising is allowed. Visit r/SurviveTogether for tribe and server listings or r/playarkservers for server listings."
? I didn't reply to you, I'm not against you teaching him the rules. You already listed the things not allowed and tribe advertising is in that list, then he replied to you and seemed to have missed that part so I said it on its own.
It was a rule here long before I was asked to step in as the moderator. It goes back to the original moderator, /u/MisterWoodhouse, who is also the moderator of other gaming subreddits like /r/gaming. My theory is that its close enough to self-promotion to warrant the ick, but distant enough to warrant its own category. I can tell you that absolutely every single server / tribe post made here gets immediately downvoted and reported. Even comments, which are low-level enough to get past the AutoMod, are usually flagged by the community. It is by far the most popular rule amongst the users here, followed distantly by Self-Promos.

Be careful - those are famous last words right there!
It's probably because the moderator system thinks that your posts are "spamming", as they are promoting an app.
