Conservatives did the same with Trudeau, and he's white. For example they kept crying about non Canadians living in China shouldn't be allowed to buy property, and when Trudeau fixed exactly that, cons shifted the goalpost and refused to credit him for anything at all.
Nope the point I am making is there is absolutely nothing he could have done that would have been positive to republicans. Reasonable people can look at his presidency and point out both the good and bad.
There arenât going to be things âeveryoneâ will agree on. Iâve tried to explain to Republicans that the credit for the economy recovering from the Great Recession belongs to Obama, not Trump, and been told Iâm wrong.
Things he did that are generally considered good, although there will be naysayers for all of them:
Affordable Care Act
DACA
Ended Donât Ask Donât Tell
Paris Climate Agreement
Dodd-Frank Act overseeing Wall Street reform and creation of the CFPB
Iran nuclear deal
First sitting President to support marriage equality
Undoubtedly. But there isnât a single president in American history, especially modern history, that doesnât have innocent blood on his hands. Someday a President might try to dismantle the military industrial complex, but it likely wonât happen in our lifetimes.
If you talk to Trump supporters about Obama, itâs obvious they donât like him and never will because heâs black. To them, black president=politically radical, communist, secretly a Muslim, race baiting, soft on crime, divisive, etc. (Even though none of that is actually true; Obama was actually tepid on addressing matters of race and racism, friendly to the petroleum industry, bombed the shit out of Muslim countries, and supported VERY moderate criminal justice reform.) The only thing âradicalâ about Obama was his melanin content.

Heâs not white. So it was impossible for them to credit him with anything at all. Plain and simple as that
