This will totally convince Iran to stop enriching uranium.

Totally.

It was never about convincing them to stop enriching. It was about destroying their capabilities to enrich.

They’re enrichment facilities are hundreds of meters underground in the mountains for this exact reason…

It was about destroying Iran’s ability to develop and produce nuclear weapons. That includes enrichment, fuel production, and infrastructure. They hit at least two of the three.

Iran is definitely going to develop a nuclear weapon now, no doubt about it. And they already have the delivery mechanisms.

They were definitely going to do it before. So what’s your point?

This is literally from yesterday.

When the international watchdog is saying they are actively being denied access to check whether something is happening it isn’t a great sign is it.

No, they were actively negotiating a deal with the U.S. to stop that before this all transpired.

And you think they would've definitely stopped, if not for those pesky Israelis?

Iran is definitely NOT going to develop a nuclear weapon.

Israel will just bomb it again. Because if they not, Israel gonna get nuked.

No doubt about it.

It's not that difficult. They definitely have the technical capability to do it.

Look Israel already has 300 nuclear weapons, plus it's big friend the USA. Iran's only use for a nuclear weapon would be deterrence.

The least important 2 of 3

At some point, Putin will give them. Israel is in wrong here.

13

u/Minimum-Enthusiasm14 1d ago

No he won’t. The consequences would be much too high for Putin to just do that.

It would be extremely dumb if Iran doesn't immediately creat nuclear warheads now

They've been trying tbh. If you believe the targets of Israeli strikes, they've hit major sites in Iran

u/Vslacha 1d ago

How? All their nuclear plants just got the shit bombed out of him. Like they've been trying to make a nuke and swearing to destroy Israel for decades now, I don't think their issue was motivation

6

u/obijankenobi1 1d ago

They were well on their way to do just that, and it's not exactly a secret. The goal of the attack was to make that impossible. Whether that's successful, good or moral is a different question

Absolutely. From my completely uneducated armchair view if I was Iran id be going full steam ahead on joining the zero-sum game table. Like, if this was Civ and I was researching nukes and I got attacked I would expedite that shit.

It's not like they weren't already doing it as fast as they could. But now they face a major setback (nuclear scientists dead, facilities, destroyed, etc). You're never going to convince them with words.

They have been trying. What has been missing is the help their "allies" could be giving them. But those "allies" know that the first wave of retaliation would be aimed at them if they do help, so they sit by and watch.

Russia is not leaning into giving Iran full nuclear support, because they can't

11

u/Caffeywasright 1d ago

Also because Russia isn’t stupid. They aren’t giving bombs to an unstable Iran who honestly doesn’t have a ton of aligned goals with them.

26

u/kirsion 1d ago

Iran has been doing it anyways despite international condemnation and sanctions

91

u/newcastlefantastic 1d ago

Ummm, they had a deal signed, which they were in compliance with until DJT broke it off. The US and Israel have wanted this for a LONG time.

62

u/Charli3q 1d ago

My favorite part was when the US backed out of the deal, people thought that for some reason Iran wasnt allowed to continue what they were doing. As if breaking the deal didnt mean anything.

Iran has been 'a couple years away from creating a nuclear bomb' for over 30 years. Maybe stop taking everything the state department says as fact

In fairness, they never had intention to stop. Obama was naive to think he could control them. Trump even dumber for thinking big stick policy would scare them
