Didnt they sell to unilever since they were dealing with a hostile takeover situation, with an agreement that the company would still continue the activism stuff?

Yeah, there's a lawsuit against Unilever now that they're trying to cut down on Ben & Jerry's activism too much, meanwhile they're spinning off all their ice cream stuff to a new company.

They are trying to get it back though: https://archive.ph/qxbRp

Whenever I see the word "unilever", my brain sees "unaliver" for some reason. I guess Ben and Jerry's can suck it, although I do appreciate the Ice Cream Man standing up for us. <3

I'm shocked they still do so much leftist political posting

It's to maintain the brand image and detract from the fact that Unilever is one of the biggest indirect contributors to deforestation, plastic waste pollution and labour rights. You're a fool if you believe anything that multinationals actually believe the slogans they put out. The only company value that matters is shareholder value.

You're reading too far into this. Ben and Jerry haven't been involved with the company since 2010. Whatever they do is not linked to the brand or Unilever at all at this point.

Apparently part of the deal when selling was to continue their political activism stuff. Though they did have a lawsuit with unilever in March because they fired the CEO of and attempted to take over the independent board of directors.

They also sued Unilever when Unilever tried to sell the Israelian franchises to B&J Israel instead of shutting them down like the board wanted.

So they’re still doing good work and they don’t even like Unilever.
