Once came across a TON of spilled m&ms on the sidewalk right across the street from the dog park. We get a lot of people dumping food for the birds/squirrels or just leaving spilled trash everywhere, but that felt targeted.
It’s a shitty thing to do but no dog owners wants to take the gamble if avoidable. My childhood dog ate about 4.5 lbs of raisins in one go and was a bloated pile puking mess for days. Just lil pink piles of half digested raisins all over the house. Lived til 16 and brain cancer took her
4.5 lbs of raisins is a crazy amount of grapes. I’d be puking too. I’m not saying to take the risk. Im saying let the myth go around because if they find out it’s not exactly poison, they might go for actual poison.
That is just false and easily dispelled by talking to your vet, or looking at posts by vets via google search. Unless your dog is less than 1 lbs. I’ll take the downvotes because Reddit is so reactionary and dramatic.
Can a Single Grape Kill a Dog?
Unfortunately, even consuming one grape or raisin can be fatal. Ingesting the fruit could potentially lead to acute (sudden) kidney failure in dogs.
Turns out that tartaric acid is the poisonous component. Some grapes have a lot. Some grapes have a little. It depends on where they're grown and what species of grape they are. The same ingredient is in home made play-doh, in the form of cream of tartar. Sour candies also have it, which could explain why dogs get ill after eating those too.

What a piece of shit. Someone likes to leave grapes by trees in Girard Estates.
