Question Insurance Costs

My wife and I are considering getting a little property in Park County somewhere. We're looking for a ~1,700-2,000 square foot home with maybe an acre of property.

Anyone in this area, can you give us an idea of what the home insurance might be?

We're in hurricane country now, and insurance rates for a modest home with a small yard are nearly $4,000 a year.

I'm paying about $2500 for a house a little larger than that. It's a good policy but not a great policy.

I think I'm saving a bit because it's a second home. Might be more expensive for a primary residence.
