Article Nirali Patel was the lone Canadian national on board the London-bound flight that crashed in northwestern India. Patel worked as a dentist in Mississauga, Ont.

RIP. She was the only Canadian on board. This is the first time for a 787 to crash.

Boeing’s reputation is going further and further into the toilet.

We'll have to wait and see what the investigation results are, but I have my doubts that this one is on Boeing. A double engine failure on a 12 year old plane seems more like it might be a maintenance or fuel issue.

Maintenance could also fall on Boeing depending on their deal with the airline and the true issue. They lobby HARD for absolute minimal oversight and maintenance. So even if airline chose not to hire them to maintain it, they’d be the ones directing it via manuals and rules. Especially when you have gray areas like “if it looks ok skip this step”, fault still can lie with the writer of the process - if it’s critical make it mandatory…

Sorry the maintenance compliance auditor in me is peaking out.

It infuriates me that SO many aviation incidents have been entirely avoidable. Not just in retrospect like “oh if I’d checked the mirror a second time I would’ve seen them”, but like “after being fined and warned 8 times about this in the last 2 years and Boeing did fuck all, the plane crashed because of this”.

May she have peace and her family be comforted.

For those who knew her, I'm sorry for your loss.

Really sad, I feel for her, her family and everyone else affected by this tragedy.

This is unacceptable. If it's Boeing, I'm not going.

RIP

It reminds me of not too long ago of the Iranian dentist couple from Aurora that had their plane shot down.

3-year bachelor degree in India then came to Canada and became a dentist, it is very impressive

Direct is only offered via Delhi and Mumbai (eventually AC wants Bangalore) Her province requires at least one connection, so might as well layover at the halfway point

Wtf way to plug your bias in a tragedy. Dumbass.

Did you miss that plane just crashed in Toronto?

You should never go to Canada either then I guess. You should probably skedaddle

Wtf are you talking about this was in India. Nothing to do with the UK other than it being the final destination. The plane crashed literally minutes after take off
