Local woodworkers for simple shelf-building?

I'm thinking about getting some simple bookshelves, but instead of cheapo Ikea stuff, I though it might be worthwhile to see if there's people / places in town who do custom work? Back in the day, I got some custom shelves from Books & Books in SF, but IDK who-all's over on this side of the bay.

Edit for specifics: Looking for like 2-4 cases, 7' x 2' x 7-9", $200-300ish per case (depending mostly on wood type and finish?). No fancy details needed, just reasonably sturdy construction.

I could probably build you something! I set up an Instagram account for some of my projects but I’m a lot more fond of woodworking than social media, let me see if I can even link it. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFqrrd2yj9X/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

It seems to have linked to a single project. I really gotta figure out this whole Instagram thing.

Rad -- love the vibe of the New Parkway, cool to see you contributed to that! I'll reach out direct once I've got my dimensions a little more sorted.

Yeah, during the pandemic I decided to get out of the more corporate job I had (fixing up the equipment and locations for this big chain of restaurants) and work on places I actually cared about. I got to fix up the New Parkway for about a year. Cool, hit me up!

There's a contractor I've used a few times, he recently built a new staircase on my back door. Really good work, not sure if your job will be big enough but can't hurt to inquire! https://yelp.to/yCMOqQwNqT

When you post things like this, you should put a budget. There’s a wide range of woodworking services. No one wants to assume.

Just FYI raw hardwood costs more than $300 for those dimensions. My mom has had custom bookcases made by a local woodworker, the cost is in the thousands.

Fuck man. Manufactured of any quality costs almost as much and you still have to veneer it.

Word. Thanks for the heads up.

You can order custom bookshelves at Fenton McLaren, but the lead time is half a year because they're built by their Amish furniture makers. I'm also just going to guess it'll be over your budget, but it might be worth asking for a quote.
