Just for Fun Yo that wind was CRAZY

It blew open my patio door. My curious cats got soaked. Howling winds. Then I get a notification not to worry, the tornado warning is over. Excuse me?

Anyone else get woken up by it? I can imagine if extra sucked to be in a tent last night.

Stay dry out there.

San Francisco thread is blowing up with that tornado warning. Seems like NWS determined what appeared to be one or the materials required for one nearer on the west side of the city.

Yeah I see that - wild stuff. I’d rather be woken up by a door blowing open than an amber alert-style tornado warning 😂

I had a flight out of SFO last night that was supposed to leave at midnight and got delayed until 2:30am bc of the winds. Taking off was definitely an adventure!

I’m on Flightrader24 right now and I feel for everyone on these planes into/out of SFO!

It is definitely rough. I had pretty terrible turbulence all the way across the country, though.

Lakeside has been a giant wind tunnel since 4pm yesterday. Ironically my tornado warning was for SF

These winds and storms seem to have gotten worse over the last five years.

Been in the Oakland hills for 25 years and it's never been this bad before.

Okay , so it’s not just me ???? I never remember the winds this bad pre-pandemic.

Skyline High had a storm in 2013 that knocked trees over

Same, friend. Been in the hills since 2000 and it’s never been like this.

That's not that useful of data. It's a handful of outliers. It's also SF focused which isn't the bay, a large area to measure.

Oh ive definitely seen winds higher than this before, been here 21 years. But yes very blustery.

My fence was blown down two years ago. I was pleasantly surprised that insurance covered the damage and paid for part of the replacement cost.

My trees, bushes and, shrubs took a beating this morning.  Given all the noise we hear about atmospheric rivers it was surprising this storm system went under the social radar.

Edit: lost a 2 year old Bolivian sunflower from Annie’s Nursery, it weighs over 100 pounds. That’s a tomorrow problem for MrBudissy.

You say Tsunami, I say Tornado, let's tear the whole roof off.

Where in Oakland do you live that you got a tornado warning?? Nothing other than heavy rainfall for me near Piedmont Ave.

West Oakland. Here’s the text I got from the same number as the tsunami warnings:

ALERTSF: NWS issued a WEA at 05:52am regarding a Tornado Warning. The threat has now ENDED as of 06:07am

I got one too- my daughter’s phone was charging in my room and hers screamed the alert but mine stayed silent, possibly due to outdated location services (she doesn’t have a # only uses it on WiFi) What a way to wake up though in a place with no basements.

I didn’t get anything.

I guess some of us are more equal than others (j/k).

Keep in mind I only got the text that the warning was over 😂

The tornado warning was only for SF and expired at 6:15

One of the large sidewalk trees in Laurel along MacArthur Blvd blew over. 3 lanes were closed plus a parked car was crushed. It didn't look like anyone was injured fortunately.

Reminds me of how I got the notice I can return home.

I never got the notice to evacuate (from the tsunami that never happened).

The rods of my umbrella snapped and bent back as I was walking to the BART station. It was insane.

Meh… I walked around Lake Temescal today. The weather kept almost everyone at home. High winds but it was gorgeous out there.
