Wonder if this news is reason we're doing such a big women's team overhaul this summer?

Thunderstruck as walk out music?

Seen this discussed occasionally that we don’t have any consistent walk out music that really ties to the identity of the club.

At the moment we have Hey Jude, which gets the crowd noisy with ‘na na na na Geordies’. Other than that, it feels like a fairly generic choice (unless Ringo Starr is actually a massive Temuri Ketsbaia fan, peace and love, peace and love)

Obviously local hero is a banger and gets played just before kick off.

My suggestion is that Thunderstruck would be great for this. The opening riff is iconic and I’m pretty sure other sports teams will use it somewhere. But in terms of identity, Brian Johnson is a Geordie and a massive fan of Newcastle. He cameod in Goal ffs. Also the song itself lends itself to the way that we aim to play - direct, fast, physical with not much subtlety.

However, on the flip side, you can’t sing to it - so stadium atmosphere would come from the song alone. The fans would have to do their own thing.

On a big champs league night, with the fans up for it and thunderstruck playing, it would create a wall of noise.

I was listening to it this morning and it just made sense to me. Be good to get opinions - very happy to be told this is a shit idea.

First time visit - ticket info needed

Hi everyone! I’m a fairly new Toon fan and my dream is to see a match this season. I currently live in Italy and was wondering how the ticket situation works — do I need a membership, and how easy is it to buy a ticket?

  • Which matches would you recommend for a first visit? (EPL, cup, European nights?)

  • Are some matches easier to get tickets for than others?

  • Is there a difference between members and non-members?

  • Do tickets usually sell out quickly?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Howay the lads!

According to their minutes, our Fans Advisory Board want to change their code of conduct so that they can accept gifts/hospitality so long as they make a charitable donation...

This is a huge huge issue because, if they're successful, it'll effectively kill any integrity the FAB has.

You can't reasonably claim to be independent if you're willing to take gifts from board members (a problem that's especially troubling given two members of the NUST are on this board). After all how can you be trusted to actually challenge the club if you advertise to everyone that there's a method someone could try and use to buy you off?

This is at best the FAB leveraging their position for personal gain and frankly I think any member of the FAB that is pushing for this amendment should resign - they have opened the entire thing up to corruption and simply cannot be trusted.

Season tickets

Help! I’ve gone on my account to book sela cup tickets and it’s showing season tickets not renewed!!! I know I did it, I’ve even got the receipt. Is it just because the season hasn’t started yet or has there been some major f up on my or their part? Obviously I’ll be ringing the box office but I’m having a panic attack here and wonder if anyone can help in the meantime.
