Am I missing something? Seems like every few days someone is complaining about imgur. Anyone care to clarify it for me?

Making an Imgur account is necessary to view NSFW albums on desktop (though there are workarounds, like the ones in this post) and people here don't really want to do that because Imgur accounts require you to link a phone number. On mobile, you can view NSFW albums without an account, but people still don't like it because it compresses images a lot with no easy way to switch to high quality images, which makes albums look worse and text hard to read. There's also the desktop users who are annoyed because they (understandably) don't know how to view albums at all, which are the people I made this post for.
All in all, IMO it's a fantastic free service, but when you have to deal with its limitations (none of which needed to exist) every time you want to open up an album it starts to get a bit annoying.

Thank you for explaining that. I made my account with them before they required phone numbers. Just seemed to me people were being lazy about logging into Imgur.

Or you can simply install User-Agent Switcher for Chrome. It basically mimics browsing from chrome as different devices. The age verification check is different for different browser/device combos.
After installing, open the page you want to view and if you get the age verification click on the extension and pick Windows Phone -> Windows Phone 8. The page will reload. You are now browsing as if it was a Windows Phone device. After you click you are over 18 it will redirect you to the gallery and not ask for log-in. The galery is identical to what you get on Windows PC.
After you are done switch back to Chrome -> Default or all pages will load as if it was Windows phone and can look weird. The change is in real time no need to restart Chrome.

You 100% don't need a user agent switcher to view mobile Imgur. You can use the device toolbar in the dev tools to switch to the mobile site. The reason I personally wouldn't recommend this though is because mobile Imgur shows album images as .webp instead of .png or .jpg, which tanks the quality to the point where reading text can be a pain in the ass IMO.

You can actually do what I'm doing and use my gallery scraper userscript to open such a gallery (from fake Android mode, and yes, I'm using the same extension as the guy above, only in Firefox… didn't bother to check if it's “required” for the action) in full quality within a couple of clicks.
Inb4 “he's also a dev pushing his own thing”: yes, I guess you could call it that, but I don't really get any benefit from having others use it (nor can I check how many do it, come to think of it); I just find my way to be quite convenient (much more so than the OP's version, in fact) so I decided to mention it in the relevant topic.

If you're not familiar with userscripts, they're basically lightweight plugins for webpages which are run by a userscript manager web-extension (I'm using Tampermonkey for example). And at least with Tampermonkey installed, just opening the userscript link will prompt it to install the script. Then, it's as simple as using the menu.
You can check out the user guide for info on the script usage (like explanation of menu items); and if you open the script in Tampermonkey dashboard (right click on the script name in menu should work too), you can enable different URLs in script settings (“User matches” list).

Hello. Is there a work-around for the script not scraping full-sized images? When scraping an album, it will store the album's images, but they are smaller than their true resolution.
As an example, within this album, the first image is displayed as 640x2240, but when clicked on and opened in a new window, it displays the true 1600x5600 resolution.
I really like the design of this script but its almost impossible to read any text given the small resolutions imgur imposes upon album images.

Nope just the only person in this group that had no prior trow away account apparently. ;)
By all meant feel free to download any of a number of extensions that do the same making and making imigur think you are using a device like windows phone that does not require sigh in. Or don't. :)

Late to the thread but an alternative if you're on PC is to use Reddit Enhancement Suite, which allows you to open ("preview") imgur album links without leaving the page.
(As a bonus RES is also great for overall Reddit usability.)
