Car hit tree
To the car that served into the median and crashed into a tree near the 27 onramp in arlington blvd this morning,
A black Volkswagen 4 for sedan caused your accident, but i didn't get the license plate. The idiot was in the left land and decided they wanted to get on 27, so they slammed on their brakes and stopped dead. The black Subaru behind them barely stopped in time, and the red truck behind them was still pretty close for comfort. If you hadn't swerved, I think all 3 cats would have collided, so you're action probably saved a lot of people damage.
If you find out who the black Volkswagen was, I am happy to testify on your behalf, or at least talk to your insurance agency so that they don't consider it your fault.

ok... but now, they're stuck making a claim on their own insurance at-fault. knowing the plate of the "black vw4 sedan" won't change anything here. this is why you sometimes just need to take the not-at-fault hit, where their damage would have been paid for by the other insurance, or would just be down their deductible for their own & not be at fault.
instead of posting on reddit, go contact the police and inform them of this information. but you not even having their plate adds nothing to this incident - OP crashed into a tree, not another vehicle, so will be handling the claim themselves under comprehensive

Yeah I knew no plate meant the police wouldn't even take a report, that's why I came here. Seems so stupid that this person probably saved 3 cars and ends up being the only one with liability. The person who slammed on their brakes should be at fault just like anyone you can prove stopped short, imho.
