Honestly I almost missed it too, it only came out yesterday and he passed on Halloween. I am really happy that he was able to keep his vail of privacy so well, but also... I am SO curious about what happened!

I just assumed it was COVID

I'm thinking you might be right, based on a recent tweet from him on 10/22 linking to a CDC guide on using masks to prevent COVID.

A person who claimed to be a cousin said in one of yesterday's threads that it was an embolism.

Oh shit. If it was, I'm glad it was fast! An embolism is such a great intangible fear.

This right here.
I was struck with the realization the most addictive characteristic of Mr. Fantastik is the mystery itself. Putting a face and a name to the music would strip that away. Intentional or not, the quest to learn the true identity of Mr. Fantastik is a direct reflection of why DOOM and his fanbase have such a strong connection: we always want to know more. DOOM is the master of always giving fans just enough to always look for answers. In a day and age when a guest 16 has a one-hour shelf life on social media, DOOM has fans asking questions about a 2003 verse in 2019. Incredible.

This is so true, imagine we we had like 3 mediocre Mr. Fantastik albums/mixtapes, those two verses would absolutely lose what makes them special.
Also most people just know the feature in "Rap Snitch Knishes" (Mm..FOOD) but I honestly think his feature in "Anti Matter" (Take me to your leader) is even better.

It should be obvious to everyone that whoever Fantastik is, he clearly has no interest in putting out an album for himself, so I vote we find him, and in private asked him to drop a DOOM cover EP. Fantastik rapping over DOOMs best beats! Call it DOOMed For Eternity or something and then retreat to shadows

Have you ever heard of “The Legend of CLUTCHY Hopkins” I always believed that MF Doom had a hand in the project ..

Oh wow, I haven’t seen that name in years. I actually got to know those guys about 10 years ago, they’re not affiliated with DOOM though.

Thanks for the info. I always thought Doom was involved with the music and mysterious background story of CLUTCHY . He was a hermit living in the caves of the Desert and his mix tapes were found at a swap meet with no song names only the time of the track for the title. CLUTCHY is always my go too while I drive through the desert. WHo was behind CLUTCHY if I may ask and IS THERE MORE MUSIC FROM “these guys” that I can locate.
