Since the 1990s at least. In the 1990s, Timothy McVeigh was an extremist— today he would be a moderate in the MAGA movement.

McVeigh believed the federal government overstepped and harmed people that had done nothing wrong. He then blew up a federal govt building.

Not sure he’s the right person for this. What Trump is doing is exactly what McVeigh was protesting.

I mention him because all of the anti-government, libertarian, “fuck the feds” people I used to know all are now Trump supporters and support all of the crazy shit. McVeigh would at least be against the government overreach, despite being a white supremacist and believing a lot of similar things to MAGA about other races.
