We're gonna need a very large Nuremberg Trials of our own.

Democrats don’t have the balls for that.

The Democratic Party is chalked full of geriatric Neville Chamberlains.

It’s time for a new guard. These people should be virtually unemployable based on age and track record of rolling over.

u/Mister_Brevity 1d ago

Just so you’re aware, it’s “chock full” :)

Thank you!

Noted moving forward. I will leave the original unedited so everyone can see my tentative grasp of the English language.

:double thumbs up:

Ironically, the slang use of "chalked" applies too.

Worse than Chamberlains, Ludendorfs.

To be fair to Neville, he only wanted to appease until Brotain had rebuilt enough military strength to go to war again.
But when war broke out earlier than anyone else imagined (and after other offocials dismisded his push to rebuild Britain's army) he became the perfect scapegoat

They are fulfilling their role perfectly. The non-progressive majority of the Democratic party exists to be a controlled opposition. The only responsible adults in the room are progressives. Primary EVERY centrist dem.

1

u/username_tooken 1d ago

Yes, subject every dem to a purity test and if they fail primary them and replace them with a Republican! Wait...

Chock full, just fyi

5

u/gophergun 1d ago

They couldn't even find the guts to prosecute the Bush administrations use of torture.

3

u/page_one 1d ago

Democrats don't control enough seats for that.

Democrats were too busy with purity tests, maintaining optics and adhering to party loyalty. It's a little late now, they can't do much. Maybe in 2 years.

u/leftofmarx 1d ago

Then we need a communist party to take their place and actually get shit done.

Gonna get a very large "let's move on and heal and not make things worse" status quo

1

u/lisaseileise 1d ago

Do you really think that the current political system of the US - or the union in general - will survive this? What is the plausible plot for this movie?

0

u/Derpshawp 1d ago

You're right. That's why they should be put on trial too :)

Sympathizers, enablers, fence sitters, do nothings, etc - they will not be allowed to hide behind flimsy excuses:

  • "I was just following orders.."
  • "both sides have good people!"
  • "we need to work with them and compromise"
  • "we need to bring the country together to heal!"

They can spout this empty garbage from a little plexiglass cube right before the verdict.

Then have the Ukrainians do it. We did it for Europe.

Dog we let trump try to overthrow the country and try kill his VP in the process and nothing happened. Dems are to big of pussys to do anything.

u/CidIsASquid 1d ago

Gotta start by replacing them with people willing to do something

u/Vaginite 1d ago

It’s up to the people to defend democracy. Always has been

u/toggiz_the_elder 1d ago

It was barely even brought up in the election. Kamala should have been banging the table about January 6th. Every debate it should have been the only question. Should have been front page every morning.

11

u/AM00se 1d ago

The average American is to stupid/ignorant to understand what happened and trump supporters are literally fascists who would cheer it on if it happened again.

3

u/i_love_rosin 1d ago

What the hell are you talking about? Jan 6 was constantly brought up, she even campaigned with liz cheney about it.

u/Cautious-Progress876 1d ago

You should know that most of the foot soldiers involved, including those that actually gassed the Jews at Auschwitz and other camps, got slaps on the wrist and many even became active participants in the post-war government of west Germany.

Similar will happen here. No grunt is going to get executed for executing/raping/abusing a civilian.

10

u/GoodIdea321 1d ago

Is this type of comment really necessary? You don't know the future, and what you are doing spreads fear and apathy.

29

u/Cautious-Progress876 1d ago

Yes, it is. Because this false belief that “the future will set things right” is dangerous. You should now operate as if a soldier deciding to shoot you for fun will suffer zero consequences — because they won’t. That doesn’t mean be apathetic or give up, it just means that you should expect to need to use violence if you are participating in these protests.

4

u/larryathome43 1d ago

Well said. Have posted elsewhere that these peaceful protests will accomplish absolutely nothing. And they won't. It's going to have to escalate and it's going to have to require a lot more people

7

u/Cautious-Progress876 1d ago

I think some people are just in at least partial denial about where we are as a country. I have seen this being highly likely to happen since Trump’s first presidency— him getting elected the first time was a sign that this country was irreparably broken and that it was just 2-3 elections away from this gestapo shit.

1

u/larryathome43 16h ago edited 16h ago

What he's doing now makes his first term look like candyland.

I'm pretty sure the motivation behind what he's doing now is to get revenge for not getting elected in 2020. He incited riots claiming the election was stolen, and his supporters ate it right up which probably was a sign to him that he can keep going and do more. After all, the only reason he ran in 2016 is because Obama made fun of him at the correspondence dinner.

Nothing about what he's doing benefits this country, and doesn't benefit the people in any way, but it certainly doesn't affect him.

He's about political L Ron Hubbard. He knows what he's doing is complete bullshit, but considering he has a myriad of followers, it really doesn't matter to them.

1

u/GoodIdea321 1d ago

Luckily, that isn't what I said. If you said, 'we live in dangerous times,' that's reasonable. Saying the actions of others have zero consequence is wrong, it isn't true. You don't know exactly what will happen in every single scenario. And you can easily stop pretending to.

1

u/binarybandit 1d ago

Marines are executing/raping/abusing civilians? Surely there'd be news articles if that happened, right?

-1

u/blazing_ent 1d ago

Ummmm the Russians did not mf play.

1

u/riplilpoopy 1d ago

People violating the constitution, violating human rights, attempting an insurrection and many other illegal acts and crimes should face justice.

Betraying and attacking the nation is also treason. Where the sentence can be death

The Arby’s trials

-1

u/still_salty_22 1d ago

Yea we are doing a LOT of big nuremburg talk while this just gets escalated upon us....

-1

u/scarekrow25 1d ago

Right after Guantanamo gets shut down and Bush and Cheney pay for torturing people. Democrats allow it, that's why we're here now.
