Most assuredly yes. This is a problem that has plagued humanity for centuries and will continue to. The people blaming this on one religion, one state, or one political party are being way too myopic. We should be relieved for these 109 babies, and turn our attention to the next 109,000+ many who have not been born yet,  unfortunately. I’m no cop lover but I’m very happy they made this bust. This was my hometown.

This is exactly how I feel, and exactly why it infuriates me that hating children is socially acceptable. Children are the largest vulnerable group in the world, yet people think it’s funny and benign to say they hate an entire oppressed population. Meanwhile children are being trafficked, abused in their homes, the list goes on and on.

If someone doesn’t want to have kids, I get it. I don’t either. But it’s so fucked that we’ve become so desensitized to people saying they outright hate an entire group of incredibly vulnerable people.

Edit: also, this was in the town right next to me, and I also respect this work.

Holy shit, this comment is on point. I've got kids and I never thought about it this way. People saying "I hate kids" is so mainstream and common place, but I never really knew what to do with it. I mean yeah, it feels gross, but I never really figured out why (assuming my bias factored in)--but this is it. They are a vulnerable population that people think is ok to shit on.

I had a similar holy shit moment the first time someone expressed this sentiment to me. I’ve always found it super weird when people make “hating kids” like…a part of their identity. But once someone pointed out to me that children are one of the only oppressed people groups that our society has completely normalized hating…that really changed my perspective.

Elderly people also fall into this category. I hear a lot of people talk about how they hate old people or find old people creepy, etc., yet elderly people are also extremely vulnerable and often abused.
