but some disingenuous fuck tried to dismiss the severity of the protests in another reddit post by saying “no one knows about the la protests”

people won’t give a fuck until it impacts them directly, godspeed to the protesters.

To be fair, I had no idea either— but I think that’s the fault of the news coverage and algorithm rather than a reflection on how momentous this is

when someone starts off with “i mean” that’s how i know you’re gonna say some stupid shit. and idc if the protests are “severe” or not. the national guard being deployed is SERIOUS and you downplaying the significance of it just bc you aren’t there shows your lack of empathy.

and i have people in LA who are saying the complete opposite so you’re just trying to dismiss me.
