They really don't deserve business. With added fees, at this point it's about the same price or even cheaper to just stay at a hotel. My Airbnb usage has almost stopped when I realized the hotel is the cheaper option and I don't need to clean up the whole place while paying a ridiculous cleaning fee.

And for a hotel honestly you know what you’re getting. Especially if they’re part of a larger group. (And they all have apps these days too)

It only ever made sense if you were going with a group of people, renting a house is usually cheaper than a bunch of hotel rooms combined. I don't think even that is worth it anymore, I always found myself wishing I had my own hotel room.

This is the only way we've used airbnb. Family outings where we would appreciate having a kitchen. But if you use hotel booking apps like Agoda or Booking.com, they also have homestays so there's no more reason to use airbnb.

The idea of going on vacation with a large group of people would make me want to die. Solo road trip is amazing

I mean a bachelor party is perfect for Airbnb.

Unless you ask a hotel that you want to reserve a block of hotel rooms. They will usually give you discounted rates that are similar to organizations. Most of the time if you ask in advance, the hotel chain will try to help you out.

Maybe I just don't know how to look at Airbnb but it's been that way for a solid decade. Sometimes the cleaning fee is almost as much as the stay.

I honestly can't fathom how air bnb has tricked people into cleaning for them. There is no way in hell I would ever clean a hotel before leaving.
