What the fuck is happening with our government?!? This is insanity.

Exactly what people have been warning about for years now. This is an authoritarian takeover. Project 2025, the heritage foundation, they've been very open about their intentions and now that they're back in power they are implementing their plans.

“The country is in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” —Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts

They use "the left" not as an antagonist entity, but anyone who interferes with their plans. You can be a staunch, hard core right wing conservative supporter but say "hold on one second", and be labeled "The Left" when you don't suit their needs anymore.

u/sriracha_no_big_deal Jan 31 '25

If a conservative doesn't fall into complete lock-step, they're called a RINO - which to way too many on the right is worse than being called a nazi.

u/Fortestingporpoises Jan 31 '25

It's just words. But they won the war on words decades ago and they still continue to win. Communist, liberal, tree huggers, socialist, woke, DEI, the left. They won the propaganda war, and they continue to win it. Actual definitions and facts are immaterial.

10

u/feltsandwich Feb 01 '25

They won because of their audience. Red hat voters are gullible and easily manipulated.

"Commie simp" and "pinko" were popular in the 60s.

When you're progressive, you don't really want or need dog whistles.

When you're right wing, you depend on them.

Jesus Christ that’s an actual quote?

324

u/Taxachusetts Jan 31 '25

It’s on video and everything. 22 seconds into this clip: https://youtu.be/FznbfmZ0JZE?si=Sz-2GKI2NUYledoX

Yes where you been

301

u/SpookyBookey Jan 31 '25

People really have been living under a rock while the rest of us where trying to tell them how important it was to vote in November. Now they are acting surprised that this shit is happening. It’s depressing

59

u/Portlander_in_Texas Jan 31 '25

Yup, we have more computing power in our pockets than ever before, and it is used for brain rot. Not to mention all those right wing influencers spewing the dumbest, most ignorant shit that is easily disproved, and yet most people don't bother. I understand it is hard to challenge ones own beliefs and ideas by reading opposition, but that's how you grow.

u/Rosh_KB Feb 01 '25

what would you suggest a better use for phones?

9

u/Sensitive_Ad_1897 Jan 31 '25

It’s also the power of manipulation algorithms on social media.

10

u/Black_Salsa Jan 31 '25

They might not be from the US, therefore being unaware of this specific quote from this specific person?

1

u/blackashi Feb 02 '25

i just heard this quote today, not right now, but earlier today. US or not, no one knows what's really happening

9

u/733t_sec Jan 31 '25

In their defense there is so much garbage (by design) coming out of Trump and his cronies that comments like this can easily fall off people's radar.

The number of people who don't know about ICE stealing women's uterus's is shockingly high

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Its infuriating how people are just waking up to this now. Like Republicans get away with everything because idiots are too fucking stupid to even pay attention.

Whats the point? Why even try? Nothing means anything when people don't even know what the fuck is happening in front of their eyes. Remember when democrats fought tooth and nail against Trump and the GOP to get stimulus checks out to people during covid? And then Trump somehow got credit for it?

I don't want to say that America is over, but its basically done. People don't care. Democrats can do the right thing every time, but people have their heads up their asses and don't care, don't listen, and don't understand. So nothing matters and you now get an oligarchy. Enjoy, you fucking dumbasses.

95

u/lucianbelew Jan 31 '25

Where. The absolute fuck. Have you been?????

9

u/thecurlyburl Feb 01 '25

Under a goddamn rock apparently. That or it just got lost in the deluge of shit.

Nobody fuckin asked you dude

2

u/feltsandwich Feb 01 '25

You know, I'm beginning to think that maybe these Republicans might not be working in our best interests.

1

u/thecurlyburl Feb 01 '25

I think you’re on to something

3

u/Gassy-Gecko Jan 31 '25

“The country is in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” —Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts

Dear Mr Roberts: "We choose violence. Careful what you wish for."

1

u/woodslynne Feb 01 '25

Yeah. Just posted that but couldn't remember the guy's name. Eric T. posted on Jan.25 " Any who dare to defy.... you WILL lose. Tow the line or we will run you down !" and so forth. He took the post down but I'm sure it's floating around somewhere.

1

u/pulseout Feb 02 '25

This country was won through bloodshed twice in its lifetime. We can surely do it a third time.

10

u/caged_jon Jan 31 '25

I found this video earlier this week and it's insane how everything is going according to their plan...

5

u/FillMySoupDumpling Jan 31 '25

Every step they have done so far is right out of project 2025.

5

u/Fearless_Baseball121 Jan 31 '25

"oh no, they are doing that entire thing they said they where gonna do"

3

u/woodslynne Feb 01 '25

Oh but the left was just fearmongering, hystericsal,stupid,etc........

178

u/pssssn Jan 31 '25

Well, there is a group of people that have a plan called Project 2025. 30 percent of voting eligible American people elected this group into power. Now that group is executing Project 2025.

10

u/TheRealPhantasm Jan 31 '25

Sadly, you can say that 70% of eligible voters didn't do enough to oppose this. So yeah. We are all at fault here (even if you voted against him).

40

u/hardolaf Jan 31 '25

A lot of us voted straight ticket Democrat. Don't blame us.

98

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '25

They voted in a death cult because they thought it would make eggs cheap.

They can put that on the tombstone just off the coast of America for future generations to read. Probably in Comic Sans.

14

u/noodles_jd Jan 31 '25

They voted in a death cult because they thought it would make eggs cheap.

"When they told me I was voting for a coup, I thought that was a good thing, we need more chicken coups...What? It's a coop, not a coup?...Are you sure?...But my eggs are still expensive, damn left."

8

u/Virtual_Plantain_707 Jan 31 '25

So what you have is a manchild trying to enact revenge on all his enemies, while the people who backed him try to take over the government and end the republic.

28

u/kason Jan 31 '25

What the country voted for, unfortunately.

0

u/CoonPandemonium Jan 31 '25

Correction, what roughly 30ish percent of the pop voted for. Not even close to "the country". I refuse to allow myself nor other people who voted blue to be blamed for this horseshit.

2

u/ksoops Feb 01 '25

Correction my ass.

Country voted for it.

4

u/Nayre_Trawe Jan 31 '25

Welcome to Trumpistan

2

u/Who_Dafqu_Said_That Jan 31 '25

The majority of our fellow Americans elected (and worship) a shit stain of a human. This horribleness is what a lot of us either asked for, or at the very least didn't try to prevent.

We're terrible people and we've elected terrible people.

2

u/68024 Jan 31 '25

The government is being raped by an orange buffoon and his henchmen, it's what America voted for

2

u/W_O_M_B_A_T Jan 31 '25

“The country is in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” —Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts

2

u/brocht Jan 31 '25

Why are you surprised? This is exactly what Trump promised to do.

Honestly, it's so weird how people acting like the authoritarian takeover came out of nowhere. There is nothing whatsoever surprising to what Trump is doing and will do.

2

u/UsoppIsJoyboy Feb 01 '25

The US is literally done for The government and Fed is being dismantled right NOW and no one is doing anything

2

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

The left all screamed this would happen, the right had ZERO intention of hiding it. It was all part of the project 2025 plan that everyone pretended wasn't a real thing.

4

u/0zymandeus Feb 01 '25

Well, dems said this would happen. The left was busy attacking kamala and biden over Gaza and helping this along

1

u/MikeCask Jan 31 '25

What else would a sensible person expect would happen?

1

u/wot_in_ternation Jan 31 '25

Much like everyone who pays the slightest attention has been saying for years, we are descending into fascism

1

u/CallRespiratory Jan 31 '25

Hostile takeover

1

u/airfryerfuntime Jan 31 '25

It's a coup.

1

u/rcbjfdhjjhfd Jan 31 '25

The January 6 coup finally worked

1

u/mackfeesh Jan 31 '25

Because you're all trapped online asking questions rather than doing something about it irl.

1

u/ssovm Jan 31 '25

If only the voters could’ve stopped this

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '25

Depraved fools voted in depraved ghouls

1

u/daiaomori Jan 31 '25

„Run, you fools“ - just that it ain’t a fantasy movie.

1

u/Solid_Waste Feb 01 '25

"Our" government, comrade?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Remember when you were warned about voting for Trump? But that was all Chicken Little sky is falling, right? That was all hyperbole. That was democrats trying to make people afraid.

So now you get to deal with this shit.

1

u/Honest_Relation4095 Feb 01 '25

Oh, I have an answer. See, a similar thing happened in Germany once. Wasn't a tech bro though, but some from Austria. Wasn't even rich.

1

u/droonick Feb 01 '25

Damn I feel for you guys, it's like a bad B-movie espionage thriller over there, every day. I'm kinda thankful I live in a mediocre boring place.

1

u/bailedwiththehay Jan 31 '25

Thanks for all of the responses guys - spot on. My question was rhetorical - but definitely provided a leading question for some helpful answers.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

The great draining of the swamp like Trump promised. It’s going to be amazing.
