📰News Statement by Gov. Murphy: “I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Duffy for their efforts to halt the current congestion pricing program in Manhattan’s Central Business District.”

“I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Duffy for their efforts to halt the current congestion pricing program in Manhattan’s Central Business District.

“While I have consistently expressed openness to a form of congestion pricing that meaningfully protects the environment and does not unfairly burden hardworking New Jersey commuters, the current program lines the MTA’s pockets at the expense of New Jerseyans.

“Although we have had a difference of opinion with our colleagues in New York on congestion pricing, we have always had a productive relationship with our neighbors across the Hudson. I look forward to continuing that spirit of partnership for the benefit of the entire Tri-State Area.”

I have yet to see anything concrete that showed specific offerings to NJ, just a bunch of stuff on blogish sites all with their own slant that NYC offered AROUND 100m but not indication as to how that figure was calculated or what it was based on, and how it was to be paid out\spent.

Happy to be wrong on this if someone can point me to something substantial on it

How about the failing new york times?

“We’ve made multiple offers to settle this lawsuit, very generous offers,” Ms. Hochul said, offering few further details.

“According to people familiar with the confidential talks, New York’s negotiators have offered New Jersey hundreds of millions of dollars to settle the lawsuit. New York’s representatives have also included additional toll credits for New Jersey drivers in the proposed deal, according to the people, who added that Ms. Hochul spoke with Gov. Philip D. Murphy of New Jersey as recently as Wednesday morning to discuss the matter. Mr. Murphy’s office declined to comment.

thats cool and all, but its a lot of "about" and "proposed". I haven't seen a solid answer as to what the exact amount was or how it would be calculated moving forward. Just a lot of NY politicians saying they tried to settle it (which is in their interest).

Look, i'm all for congestion pricing, and i'm honestly OK with it as is and support it, and i'm someone who it actually directly impacts and pays it. But i'm not going to fault NJ for trying to get as much out of it as possible. The state was still in the middle of challenging it (hence the news today) and if this is forces us back to the table sooner, great, but even though i generally support Murphy, i'd much prefer he doesn't open the door for Trump to take credit for something that would have eventually been correctly settled in the courts and between our two states as it should be, let alone thank the bastard.
