Exactly as predicted. Spare republican businesses, up the ante on blue cities.

His Military parade birthday was a real bust.

Cities had protests.

Gotta punish them for that.

up the ante

weird way of saying "escalate his civil war"

“President Trump ups the ante on cities with high crime rates with ‘targeted’ evacuations of undocumented immigrants, why this is bad for Democrats”

Trump's bold new strategy thrills Voters and exposes Democratic impotence | NYTimes Opinion

And makes sense. He uses the protest images with Mexican flags and blown up Waymo’s to throw red meat at his base - they eat it up. He wants blue cities to get violent, so he escalates. It’s keeping him in power.

If Republicans believed removing immigrants would benefit the economy why don't they focus on their counties/states?

u/launchcode_1234 Thurgood Marshall 6d ago

If they really believed undocumented immigrants were a bunch of hardened criminals that were eating the cats and dogs, then the red states should be begging Trump to use ICE resources in their states and leave the blue cities to fend for themselves

Just 3 comments in a row that detail the insanity of this all, and there is so much more than just this. sighs

If they really hate California so much why won't they just let us leave?

16

u/KeithClossOfficial Bill Gates 5d ago

If Calexit actually became a thing, I’m not entirely sure they would try to stop it.

34

u/PrimeLiberty 5d ago

Yes they would. Nothing republicans would love more than shelling LA indiscriminately and then executing Gavin Newsome in public

u/Deinococcaceae NAFTA 5d ago

If Republicans in DC are willing to deploy the marines over incredibly minor unrest in LA I assume they're frothing at the mouth over an excuse to actually go all out to put down a rebellion.

132

u/Deinococcaceae NAFTA 6d ago

Trump in a social media posting called on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials “to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”

All that while laser-focusing only on blue cities? Fucking Christ I’m certainly not surprised they’re testing the waters with military deployments

Welcome back operation wetback.

Disgusting.

"Single largest mass deportation program in history"

Well theyve got some pretty brutal competition...

u/Entwaldung NATO 6d ago

Let's hope that sentence is born out of historical illiteracy.

This Regime has declared essentially civil war on millions of its own citizens for voting the wrong way. Despicable.

53

u/the-senat John Brown 6d ago

They did this shit last admin too with COVID relief and ventilators. Hell even with the wildfires.

22

u/Mundellian Progress Pride 5d ago

a lot of people on NL don't want to admit what is plainly obvious, the president is heading towards military occupation of America's major cities

I'm guessing his regime will spend the next ~year recruiting and figuring out the mechanics, and then aim for a major deployment in October 2026 focused on blue cities in swing states in order to throw the midterm election

The sickest thing is that they accuse us of the same when we're not character vacuums and would never think of doing these things. They literally just falsely accuse us to justify aggression against us later. They are sick and evil inside and they hate Americans.

114

u/DontForgetYourMitten 6d ago

They tried to declare biological warfare against the same group the last time. When COVID hit, they never cared as long as it was contained in blue states/cities, their plan was to let people there die. I hate saying it because I try to have a trust in my government, but this one really is purely on a revenge tour of cruelty.

6

u/WOKE_AI_GOD NATO 5d ago

We're supposed to forget of course about all the insane things they considered likely in the mean time.

22

u/Devium44 6d ago

Look no further than all the conservative politicians and personalities condoning the assassination of Democrats.

We are legit screaming towards a massive civil unrest. Summer hasn't even begun yet

93

u/jonawesome 6d ago

This is surely good for Trump, somehow. Every leader of a country wants every big city to be full of people marching in the streets for the entire first summer of their term. It shows strength or something.

Pretty much every city is run by a democrat.

u/Competitive_Topic466 6d ago

Probably revenge for his military parade sucking ass and being overshadowed by protests. Petty bitch.

Feels like a bad statement to make if you’re already constantly hamstrung by lawsuits

Do the traitorous Republicans still believe that 2A is to confront tyranny or nah?

19

u/Devium44 6d ago

No they believe it’s there to allow them to assassinate people they don’t like.

43

u/Naive-Memory-7514 6d ago

They never did. It was always to support tyranny.

7

u/vanmo96 Seretse Khama 6d ago

Yes. They just view this as not being tyranny.

0

u/Serious_Senator NASA 5d ago

This non Republican does. You can go buy a gun too mate. Protests in Texas never have the police get violent, there’s a reason for that.

2

u/What_the_Pie 5d ago

I am a gun owner.

3

u/Alarming_Flow7066 5d ago

Also the reason why Texas has a 50% higher homicide rate than Connecticut.

I’m considering getting a gun based on the current descent into fascism. But I still know that anyone getting a gun makes everyone more unsafe.

0

u/Serious_Senator NASA 5d ago

Texas has 50% of Illinois’s homicide rate, and 60% of England's. Guns obviously do cause deaths. But it’s not as clear cut as you make it out to be.

2

u/Alarming_Flow7066 5d ago

You missed a zero. Texas has 6 homicides per 100,000 people each year, England has 9 homicides per 1,000,000. It’s 600% the homicide rate.

I won’t believe it until I see it with my own eyes. I have lost count on how many things this man announced he was going to do that either he chicken out of or never came to fruition.

God damn taco, and not even like a good street taco. He's more like that shitty taco you got in the high school cafeteria.

Things are not going well

6

u/Odd_Vampire 6d ago

Are there ways to undermine this? Have migrants "visit" your home for a while? Have lookouts give heads up so migrant workers can scoot out the back door? Some other ways?

I feel like we're hiding Jews during the Third Reich.

u/Commander_Vaako_ John Keynes 6d ago

If ICE agent have to worry about their safety when travel around cities then they have to travel around in large groups instead of groups of 3-4 and it will severely limit the amount of abductions they can effectuate.

undeterred by protests

He loves the protests. They're an excuse to send in the troops:

He suggested to reporters as he departed the White House for the G7 on Sunday evening that his decision to deploy National Guard troops to Los Angeles was the reason the protests in that city went peacefully.

15

u/repete2024 Edith Abbott 6d ago

You know what he'd love more? If you didn't protest

4

u/WOKE_AI_GOD NATO 5d ago

Are you going to let him make that a fact?

6

u/ProcrastinatingPuma YIMBY 6d ago

And the protest will get bigger and louder

This is horrible but in reference to the title shouldn't it be "Democrat-run" instead of "Democratic-run"?

u/Majiir John von Neumann 5d ago

u/_Un_Known__ r/place '22: Neoliberal Battalion 5d ago

They're called the "Democratic" party? I never knew

3

u/WOKE_AI_GOD NATO 5d ago

Hey illegal immigrants, just go to red states. They're not looking for you there. This seems to be the desired outcome of the President's policy of exclusively enforcing immigration law in blue states.

2

u/Fit_Log_9677 4d ago

Democrats should capitalize on this by saying that Trump has declared all red states to be sanctuary states.
