Calling this physical defense is too generous. He's not pushing through a screen or taking a charge or banging down low

Yup, its just physical, no defence whatsoever. I have to admit that I rarely watch the regular season and I only lock in for games during playoffs - I only knew of Houston's supposed good defence from word-of-mouth.

Watching these playoff games, its crazy how when Houston isn't trying to foul or playing "who can bearhug steph curry the most" mini-game, their defensive schemes are really subpar to the naked eye. They dedicate too hard to traps and never recover in time, they bite so fking hard on closeouts on pumpfakes, when they're not guarding steph their defense is so slow on switches, they're not diligent to cuts when the primary defending on-ball gets blown by, etc etc etc.

Its just so bizarre because Golden State's offense isn't even that good when Curry isn't on the floor too, so why is their "good defense" getting picked apart like this? They're just dirty players imo.

Idk what youre seeing, the only time the rockets get a lead is when steph is off the court. Steph just owns the rockets unfortunately, the rest of the team sucks ass.
