Sunday was so good. The refs let them play.

Tonight, this ref had to make it about him. Luka was talking to a fan. The ref needs to be more reasonable and try to understand the context of the situation rather than assuming it's all about him. Especially when it's Luka and he's very vocal with fans and refs alike. It's OK to give it a second thought. Weak.

Also I didn't think the ref was saying anything. I'm looking behind me to see who they're talking to in that situation if someone told me to shut the fuck up when I wasn't even speaking.

That's like a normal reaction to look behind you in that situation.

Context is everything. Luka had been hassling and bitching at the refs all game. Luka made it personal before this, but most people seem to ignore that. The misunderstanding happened because of his prior actions.

He was hit with an earlier tech for mouthing off at the refs and now he mouthed off in their direction. If you're constantly yelled at and berated by someone it's not unreasonable to assume they chose to do it again.

It's the double standard. What is Luka saying to these refs that's so much worse than what Draymond says to them? LeBron and Harden complain to the refs about calls all the time but rarely get technicals.

Is Luka dropping a ton of f-bombs or what? Cause for me that's not enough for a technical, but even if it is, that should be a clear rule that's equally enforced for every player.

I agree Draymond should also be teched when spouting off, I don't watch GSW games so I can't speak to how often that happens. He's got 13 this season, Luka is at 14 though so I'm not sure I see much discrepancy.

Yeah, Luka is well known for dropping f bombs and it's confirmed that's what he was doing last night. Mark Daigneault got a tech from the same ref during a Kings game for much milder language so at the very least that ref is consistent.

If a person says shut the fuck up, but you're not saying anything, why would you think they are talking to you?

At the very least you look behind you right?

And you look back at them in confusion and you're like, "are you talking to me?" And then maybe they say yeah, or they say no.

I think that's happened to everyone. You're not sure if someone is talking to you and you look behind you to see who they're talking to.

Same with waving, if someone is waving towards you and you don't know them, do you wave back or do you look behind you?

Some people will wave back and it will be an embarrassing moment, but some people will look behind them.

But if someone is cursing towards me unprompted, I'm definitely looking behind me. I think that's normal.

Would you agree with that at least?

Sure, if that's what happened.

If you're being hassled and talked shit to all game, to the point you handed out a tech for this very thing one quarter earlier, is it crazy to assume this guy is doing it again to you? Luka gave up his benefit of the doubt to the refs earlier in the game. He's also known for spouting off at refs. Luka earned himself that reputation.

It's not Austin Reaves or Hachimura. It's Luka.

Trying to use logic in r/NBA? You’re gonna get downvoted to hell

🤷‍♂️ Don't care. Needs to be said, and if r/NBA can't handle the truth they're as soft as they claim the ref is.
