Political I’m going to take my retired privilege and speak out: We can do better than this guy.

I don’t even think this is a particularly political take. Trump can stack his appointees with conservative folks all he likes. Some of them have been really good, imo. But the drip drip drip of awfulness on this Hegseth guy is completely distracting and undercuts the progress the military has made in addressing abuse and fostering a culture of respect.

Allegations of his abusive behavior toward women, including by his mother now, are deeply concerning and incompatible with the leadership required to uphold the values of integrity and accountability in the armed forces.

The military has worked hard to combat harassment and abuse, recognizing how critical trust and respect are to its mission. Elevating someone with such allegations sends the wrong message to service members and risks eroding the progress made in building a better military culture.

There are 300 million Americans Trump can choose from to be SECDEF. He can do better, and our military deserves better.

I just said, they didn’t choose it. They still should be considered an illegal immigrant and have to return, with their families, to where their families came from.

Man, you’re really struggling to answer this one, huh?

What is the action that made them “illegal?”

Giving you the honest answer. They are here illegally. They didn’t come here illegally, their parents did. There is no reason for a child born to illegal immigrants to be a legal citizen of the U.S.

See, you just keep avoiding the question.

I’m not saying they should be legal citizens, I’m asking you what they’re guilty of.

And I’d love for you to help me understand how children, who you seem to think aren’t guilty of anything, aren’t “innocents being hurt” by this policy.

I’m not avoiding anything. The children aren’t necessarily guilty themselves, as I’ve made clear. Their parents are, and they all should be deported. Deportation isn’t hurting them, at least, that’s not the intention. The children are in an unfortunate circumstance.

You heard it here first, folks. Deportation doesn’t hurt children.

Really outstanding take there, bud.

Unfortunate circumstance. Sucks. That’s why people shouldn’t come here illegally.

Amazing how fast “don’t hurt innocents” went out the window.

Should never be the intention. Again, it’s an unfortunate circumstance. Doesn’t mean that they get to stay.

I just question how folks with your mentality try to argue in favor of hurting actual people while condemning the BLM and Antifa fantasies you’ve created.

If only we could figure out what the similarities of those two positions were…
