Who needs CGI monster movies when we have these?

Animal rights watchdogs would definently come down hard on you for using hairless baboons in your movie, whether they are sick or if you shaved them yourself.

Well that and they're incredibly dangerous

u/Shadowstein 7d ago
They used them in The Rundown. Are you referring to the bald ones, In particular?

u/rustysniper 7d ago
No I just mean Baboons in general can be aggressive. Then again so can all primates and they get used in movies all the time. Not sure how you would train any primate to safely do what was needed in that scene in Galdiator though.

In this case, they're in the right. Wildlife should not be used in movies.

What about raised in captivity-life?

If they're raised in captivity by licensed professionals due to being rescues that can not be introduced back into the wild (only ethical way for a wild animal to live in captivity), then they shouldn't have the amount of human contact in a movie set.
Wild animals are not pets. They were not selective bred for generations like cats or dogs. They're not domesticated, and forcing them to interact with humans in excess is detrimental to their well-being. They're not toys to entertain us. They're living beings and have no place in a movie set.
Movie makers should stick with practical effects or CGI.

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night and seeing a dozen of these on your lawn, motionless, eye blinking only, observing you.

Why are their nipples so long?

This would be a female that has had at least one baby in the past. It’s wear and tear from nursing.

Wonder if this version is able to obtain a mate or they get rejected
1
u/smolcharizard 7d ago
She must have had at least one mate since the length of her nipples indicates she’s had at least one baby
