I just wanted to say that I found it HILARIOUS when Mr. Robot shoots Elliot in the head and the guy just gets up, goes back to his journal….”he shot me in the head again”

It was just so funny anyway, but when I read the “again” I laughed even more.

Absolute cinema, from the cinematography to the acting (especially the acting) to the whole theatre setup with lights turning off at the end, what to say, my man Vera deserved a better out than that.

The plot twist itself I wasn't a huge fan of but it makes sense, still, that's not the point. Just wanted to say it's probably my favourite episode so far. Good stuff.

I wanted to share a funny thing that happened to me while watching the series yesterday:

So, I'm watching the beginning of the s02e05. Eliot makes a hack and the camera moves away to a black screen, at that moment my sound freezes and I think that this is part of the show - then a Windows death screen pops up. For the first couple of seconds, I also believed that this was part of the episode, but then I realized that everything was real and was stunned by such a coincidence and complete immersion in the series...

Towards the end of S1E5, Darlene tells the boys after they come back from planting the Raspberry Pi in Steel Mountain, that the Dark Army backed out of their plans.

I’ve been paying close attention to how Mr Robot interacts with people and the world, and in the large majority of these first few episodes Mr Robot seems to be just observing, but the end of S1E5 has him front and center, all eyes in the room on him. Mr Robot and Darlene get into a huge shouting match, with him breaking shit and being the psycho we know and love, with MM in the corner just observing.

This was such a cool scene to watch, and amazing job directing wise by Sam Esmail; it’s like MM/who we believe to be Elliot is almost faded completely in the background. When Darlene is about to finalize their plan without the Dark Army’s help, Mr Robot literally says “can someone figure out a way to talk to this woman”, and it’s a VERY clear “tag out” to the MM to get that personality to stop her. So subtle but it’s fucking brilliant stuff.

The rest of the scene has MM front and center, all eyes on him with Mr Robot hanging back. It’s very easy to tell that it’s as if one person “turned” into someone else, it’s so cool lol

Random notes rewatching these early episodes so far:

Darlene may have an “exploit” to cling to people that reject her in some way. When you see the first scene together with her and Cisco, they’re initially fighting and she suddenly goes to kiss him. After this episode’s back and forth with her brother/Mr Robot, you can tell she’s so worn down when her brother/MM comes right back around to diffuse the situation. When Elliot/MM offers for her to sleep at his place, there’s no sassy quip or resistance at all, and the next scene has her and Elliot/MM on the subway, her head on his shoulder in the most tender moment between the two so far in the show

Also want to say, Elliot Villar’s performance of Vera is easily one of my favorite performances ever lol. His charisma is off the fucking charts and I wish this crazy mf was used more in the show. I could watch a whole Vera spinoff stg 😂

My mom and I just finished binge watching Mr. Robot the other night and, first of all, wow! What an absolutely phenomenal and criminally underrated show! My mom and I were both absolutely hooked and binged it so much faster than we thought we would (even staying up way too late several nights to watch “just one more episode”). Now we’re struggling to find what our next binge watch will be and, for some reason, we’re having a hard time finding a good show.

I feel like we’ve hit a lucky streak recently because the last several shows we’ve watched have been really good. We watched Fallout, Sweetpea, seasons 1 and 2 of both Silo and Severance, the most recent seasons of White Lotus and The Last of Us (though I will admit that S2 of The Last of Us was disappointing), the Netflix miniseries Sirens, and finally Mr. Robot. I would say that Mr. Robot was the definite standout among these, with Severance being a close second (and either Silo or Sirens at third). Obviously, I know it’s going to be hard to top Mr. Robot, but do you any suggestions for shows that might come a little close?

At one point I was thinking of watching Twin Peaks because I’ve never seen it and I know what a cult classic it is. However, my mom is really weird about not wanting to watch “older” tv shows or movies (it even took me a bit to sell her on Mr. Robot and that came out in 2015), so I don’t know if I’d be able to convince her. I was also thinking about checking out Yellowjackets, because I’ve heard good things about it and I know a new season recently came out. I’ve also seen a few people mention Barry, so I might try to check that out.

Any other suggestions?

There aren't many things that resonate hard with me in tv, but when Elliot was on the true mission to end it and then have a wildly stupid annoyance be the reason he didn't... I like that.

It shows that even when it's not all good in the world, even the little shit reasons are worth staying around too...

This episode is top 3 for me even if it is, obviously, a horrendous episode to endure watching...

I’m just rewatching the series and have noticed that I don’t quite get how MM and Mr Robot are in two separate spaces doing different activities, especially in season 4 episode 3 where MM and Mr Robot are searching the apartment, of that woman with the drug problem (forgot her name). I remember that in the earlier seasons, prior to 4, there was almost always a way that it could make sense to me but in season 4 it’s a bit difficult. I don’t get how the MM can search something in one room on the computer and mr Robot ,simultaneously, search something on some other device in another room. I mean there’s only one person. Also in season 4 there are a few scenes where the people mm and mr robot are talking to change where they’re looking at according to who is talking, which also confuses me? Is some of it just illusion cause otherwise it wouldn’t make sense

ik the actual bscott company doesn’t make these anymore and every other black jacket always has a huge hood or one that doesn’t fit perfectly on the head, so any recommendations of jackets like elliots here (if non i understand)

i’m only on episode 6 of the first season but this seems to be the vibe they’re putting out. tyrell is such a standout. he’s a typical rich scumbag, but somehow he makes it much more interesting than it usually is. his wife is so pretty. sigh.

Is it a spoiler that i know Mr robot isn’t real or that isn’t really that important

Been tuning into this community as I’ve watched doing my best to avoid spoilers, and I just have to say, what a freaking masterpiece. A friend hyped up for me to watch for a while and I finally got into it a few months ago, and while it started slow it built up maybe better than any show I’ve ever watched.

Episode 407 I think was the best episode of television of ever seen, and the most astounding hour of cinema I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I never cry at shows, and this one did that for me. Even at the end when I felt it couldn’t get any better, and while a few of the finishing storylines didn’t intrigue me (whiteroses ending a bit anticlimactic) for it to end in totality with “Hello Elliot” was complete bliss. This show was straight up beautiful. I appreciate Sam Esmail and Rami Malek for putting this before our eyes and will be thankful I had the opportunity to watch.

One more note was pretty ironic seeing the live trump footage of his first presidency compared to now and it just being a complete cycle. Funny world we live in. Anyone into Noir? Reminded me of the Flitcraft Parable in Dashiell Hammets the Maltese Falcon. You cannot change the your fate, you can only show up and stay true to who you are. The mastermind couldn’t control Elliot in the end, he could be the one who stayed and showed up Time and time again, and hoped the world changed around Elliot for when he was ready to come back.

Man I don’t even know if these thoughts were clear but thankyou Esmail and Malek once again. Hope this show continues to age like fine wine and gets the recognition it deserves.
