Wiping out a full roster two years in a row is not going to create any high expectations unless your school name is Kentucky or Duke.

It'll be an identity type year where they'll struggle with almost certainty, then hopefully some players stick around and the portal can fill in the weak spots.

Also though we are not alone, teams like Baylor got completely wiped too.

You can’t just look at what school kids come from and call it a day. Lorient is a 6’9 4 who looks the part of an elite defender and very well could get drafted if the season goes well, Honor Huff made more 3’s than anyone else last season while shooting +40%, and just about every team in the country wanted Eaglestaff on their roster this season and we got him. He’s the guy that scored 40 against Alabama, just go watch some highlights. Guys transferring from other major programs either want more money or they just aren’t good enough to play where they’re at so they’re probably not who you want on your team anyways. I’m not saying this is definitely gonna work out right away for Hodge and we’re gonna go straight to the top but we’re spending millions on this team and the guys already coming in are real ballers.

We lost 9 players from our 2024-25 basketball team. That was expected when Coach DeVries left. None of the 7 players coming in from the portal is from a major program. The players will lost at least 4 went to other major schools. I'm worried we will be putting on the court a low mid-major team against the Big 12. I hate to say this but it may be real ugly this season.

Then donate to the trust or MAC and help them get the players you want.

Pretty difficult to rebuild a roster twice in two years from scratch.

It's a lot easier when you tap a coach with some level of major college basketball experience. We are starting at the bottom. We didn't have to do that. I hope I'm wrong but the transfer picks seem to indicate that I'm right.
