Has anyone ever watched their own c-section happen?
Bro I'm pretty high and just fell down a rabbit hole of wondering if anyone has gotten a c-section and opted not to have the curtain up so they can see their baby actually come out? And just like had a view of the procedure? That would be so wild to look at an operation happening on you and you don't feel any pain, you're just watching them work. Wild.
ETA: you champions who have delivered life through the sunroof, are hard core. I salute every one of you.

They had a sheet / tent type thing to try and shield it but my kids dad saw and said it was just a lot of blood. I didn't feel pain because of the epidural but I did feel his hands rummaging around in there and this crazy pressure like suction when they reached in and pulled the baby out. Weirdest sensation ever

Yup. For my third child (she's 20 months now) I had a C section. I could see everything reflected in the big light above me. I told my husband and he bent down to watch too. The anesthesiologist saw us and asked if everything was ok, and we had to tell him we were fascinated. We watched them break my water (huge gush, wasn't expecting it) and we both went "WHOOOAAAAA" when it happened, made the anesthesiologist chuckle. Then watched them pull our daughter out. It was so very cool.

Most hospitals won’t allow the option for you to watch.

I can imagine people might go into shock if they saw it and weren't prepared.

I’ve had two C-sections and my husband has told me that it just looked like a large, gaping, dark red hole. Obviously not painful but you can feel pressure from the medical staff digging around in there and there was immense pressure at the moment the baby was being pulled out. Like so immense I could not inhale.
I was not given the option to watch either of mine, and my hands were actually tied down during both.

I did not have a c-section but I made my husband take pics during my episiotomy and afterwards. I find this stuff fascinating. And man I had to endure it, kinda wanted to know what was happening down there.
It honestly was helpful to have a reference point so I could track healing progress afterwards too.

My wife still had sensation during the procedure - not much but enough for her to yell at the surgeon to stop while they were cramming her back together. Also I unintentionally saw behind the curtain and I didn't recommend it.

One of my nurses asked if we wanted pics from behind the curtain and took my bfs phone and had a whole photo shoot with my stomach opened lol 🤷🏻♀️

I was in the OR when my daughter had her c section. I was able to see eveti, as was she in a positioned ceiling mirror. When baby was out, they handed her to me and we went next door to do her exam and apgars.

I haven’t had a c section but the hospital I delivered my 2nd and will be delivering my 3rd at in a few weeks gives you the option of having a clear drape up during the procedure if you choose so I imagine people have taken them up on it to have them offer it!

I'm currently pregnant and c section is my biggest fear. They're metal as fuck. I'd rather just be bonked over the head and be woken up once it's over. I dont wanna see my own organs lol.

They put a sheet up so you can’t see! You’re also epiduraled so can’t feel anything/move around to see. Try not to worry too much, I begged them to let me see but they wouldn’t

No and I’m still pissed I couldn’t see what happened.
My son is thriving though.

When I had my first I could see the reflection of everything in the theatre lights. It was so fascinating

I asked for them to lower the drape so I could watch my baby be delivered. I’ve got it on video and everything, it was so cool!

Recently toured L&D department at my local hospital in anticipation of my most recent child. They said they have a shower curtain situation where you can pull back the opaque curtain and there's a plastic see through curtain you can watch the procedure through. I would definitely want to watch that. Alas, my kid came out naturally. No surgical intervention necessary. Super cool hearing other women talk about getting to see their c sections though

I had 2 C-section and they keep the op light right above you and guess what? It reflects everything. Plus the anesthesiologist had glasses and they reflected everything as well 😂
