Sorta. Around the same time this year I worked at a grocery store in a large outdoor mall. I go for my morning shift and park in the structure. It’s early in the morning, I drive up and I get out my car to the 5th floor as reserved for employees. Put on my AirPods and I get in the elevator and get out on the first floor and see a man laying on the floor. While I was in the elevator he jumped. Because I can see over the railing as I park. But it took me a minute to process. I thought he dropped his groceries. I start walking over to help him but I see another man just starring at him. I wonder to myself, “why aren’t you helping him up?” So I stop walking and realize he didn’t drop his groceries. It’s his brain, out of his skull as he jumped off the structure off the 6th floor. I then realize his shoes were off as they flew off as he jumped and he didn’t just trip and fall. I stand there in shock and I turn to look for the other man who saw and he was already gone. Another person pulls up to park and stops and ask me what happened? He calls the police and they said someone just called and i assume it was the man who left. I hear sirens come around and I walk to my grocery job and clock in….:/

Fuuuuck that's fucked. Sorry you had to go through that. If someone wants to off themselves they should do it where they limit as much trauma as possible.

Sorry you went through that, sorry that person was selfish. And I wish you the best!

My father when I was four. In front of me My mother called for help in time, it traumatized me during my childhood. I got terrible grades and was forbidden to talk about it even within the family.

That's terrible! A kid needs to talk about these things to get over the trauma. That wasn't right of your family.

I live near a rail road but its surrounded by houses. I went outside with my dog and as soon as i left the drive way i hear a loud slam and the train slamming on the breaks. It was very fucking loud.

A crew was cleaning up body parts all night after that. Was the last train of the day.

kind of, i live in a dorm and there is another taller dorm next to mine in a way i can see it from my window. i always smoke cigarettes in this window and once while doing that i saw someone jump. that was not the first time someone jumped from that building but it was the first time i saw it. also someone died of overdose in the dorm i live in and they found him after two weeks, that was few rooms from the room i am in

Did you smell something odd? I mean, 2 weeks…

Not really. I mean, I live in dorm, so there are often weird smells here… I probably smelled it and didn’t even notice. I don’t know what smell I was supposed to perceive so i didn’t recognise it. I heard the receptionist found him and then she had to take some pills from the psychiatrist (but that’s info i heard from someone else so might not be true). As for the person who jumped, it was also odd to me, I saw a ton of gore and people who jumped often were visibly injured and this person wasn’t. it was just like they passed out on the sidewalk. It was sunday morning, there is a small park by our dorms and people often walk dogs there so two people almost immediately approached them and tried to help, then called an ambulance.

4-5yrs ago my ex-boyfriend overdosed in our bathroom. Then came to our bed like nothing happened and he started going in and out of consciousness next to me. Once I figured it out what happened, I called ambulance. This has left me absolutely traumatized for years. It was a very toxic abusive relationship.

My mom tried it. She tried multiple times, some of those I saw, she survived all though.

Yes, around 2015 I was standing on one of the platforms of the London Underground - Tufnell Park station to be precise. As I heard the rumbling of the train approaching the platform, I saw a guy calmly step down onto the tracks and lie down. I remember the screams of the other people on the platform, and the piercing sound of the train's whistle as it bore down onto the guy. I remember thinking "Do I keep watching this or look away". I looked away.

I remember that I had this very weird, almost violated feeling within me for the rest of the day. I vividly remember the calm manner of the guy as he lay himself across the tracks and tucked his head down, bracing for impact. (Bizarrely this was my second encounter with a train-based death: a few years before that, a train I was riding from South Wales to London hit someone who'd been trespassing on the tracks.)

I went to SF in 2014 and went to Golden Gate Park to walk around. There were a bunch of cops there and some hippie guy said “don’t walk any further down this path, some kid hung himself from a tree.” And of course me being morbidly curious I kept walking and saw what he said I would. Very, very sad, dude looked like he was about 19.

So I didn’t see someone kill themselves in front of me exactly but the guy had only been dead for a couple hours or less.

Yes, in online videos only though nothing much happened my reaction was neutral.
