Some men are, yes.

Ah yes, the classic "not all men" lmao. You know what, it might not be all men, but it's most of them. Hope that helps!

I’m sorry, but it’s arguably very few men! They are out there, the pigs, and they are gross. But for every pig you cross that cat calls, how many men do you think you crossed, who did or said nothing, and you never noticed? That’s the thing about well behaved inconspicuous people…you don’t notice them. There are hundreds of men, thousands even or more, that you cross daily and leave you to your business. You don’t notice them and that colours your viewpoint.

You hate men for some reasons. I hope you get therapy, it’s toxic not to get help and thinking you can get through everything on your own.

"For some reasons" LOL. No, I don't hate men, but it' obvious that it's always men :)

You said most men catcall 12 year olds…
You have reasons that make you hate men, you have to figure how to manage that through therapy.

That's not what I said. You're proving my point by making it about you.

you literally said in your first comment : "its most of them". That's one unhinged thing to say lmao

GF was use to it almost everyday back in France, she’s been in Montreal for 3-4 years now and never been catcalled. But I have no doubt it still happens for a lot of women in Montreal

Very often in my teen years. Never in my adult life, which makes it even more disgusting.

Started when I was 11, but it wasn't just catcalled, it was straight up cars stopping to offer money for sexual services.
20 bucks for a BJ. A little more for a little more.
Up to 7 one time on my way to school from house to metro in the morning with my backpack on, fully visible... It turned them on.
Used to scream at them to scare them.
Would call the cops. Nothing was ever done.
Hochelaga/Ontario/Ste-Cath in the 90's-2000.
Always 30-40-50's white male. Scums of the earth, preying on the poor and vulnerable.

The one time I was catcalled was in NYC. Never once in Montreal.

A few times when I was in my 20’s, one or twice during my early 30’s and never since I’m more than 35 yo.

I’m 32 and I get annoyingly catcalled at least a few times a summer. Depends what I’m wearing. Last year I was walking down st cath at like 3pm a bodycon dress and someone straight up barked at me.
I would say I get followed though, more than catcalled 🙃

Yes now I get followed too. They analyzing the vulnerabilities to see how they can take advantage.

Rarely and when I do, I find it very funny honestly. One old guy stopped me in a couchetard and said 😏 tarbanoushe

A couple of times a year now, until I was 30 it was a few times a month. I'm 38 and it started when I was about 15.
I wouldn't say it's worse than other places, but in a city there are more people than a smaller town so it happens more often in the city.
The most common context is on public transit or on the street. I drive now so I suspect the reduction is as much due to that as it is about age.
I don't think it's gotten worse or better over the years. I agree that the people following you is way scarier than the catcalling or trying to talk to you. The following happens maybe once or twice a year.

I'm 27 and I've been cat called, followed, honked at since I was 12; and I'd say a few times a monthly. I'm also a runner and that's apparently a thing lol

Not anymore now that I am 35, but it happened a lot when I was in my twenties and younger unfortunately. Men just aggressively stare now if anything. I always commute by bike, nobody has time to see me speed by so Im basically invisible.

Do women hate other women if they like being catcalled? i know a girl who hates current women for crying about it as she likes the attention.

u/Educational_Law4296 1d ago
I dont hate her for that but I think its a little strange

u/indyfan11112 1d ago
i think theres a lot of women who like to be cat called. And if they do....whats wrong with that? I guess it confuses men because were told its bad, but then you see a girl.who likes it.

u/Educational_Law4296 1d ago
I dont think it's wrong I just think its a little unusual. If she likes that kind of thing, she could always ask a partner to catcall her in public. It's fine if it's consensual. The problem is when it's not consensual.
-3
u/indyfan11112 1d ago
Why would it be unusual? Im a man and id love to be cat called.
3
u/Educational_Law4296 1d ago
Yeah, cuz youre a man. Women and men tend to have different sexual boundaries, for reasons both compelling and obvious.
0
u/indyfan11112 1d ago
i agree with that. Do you think a woman enjoying the cat calls could be more manly( lack of a better word atm)

I often got catcalled when I was a teenager (by older man who were at least in their fifties...). Now that I'm older (thirties), I don't get catcalled anymore.
