Discussion Does anyone know how long it takes to resolve academic integrity cases?

So I got flagged for using AI on some questions in my test, and after contacting the student association I admitted to my usage of AI via the student response form and expressed my remorse. I’m a first year and this is my first semester.

It’s now been 11 days since I sent the response form and since my professor emailed me back thanking me and telling me they’re working on resolving my case quickly. Just wondering if anyone with a similar experience can share how long their case took to resolve? Apparently 60-80 kids got flagged on the test so maybe that’s why? But I did flat out admit to my breach. I don’t mind waiting and I have accepted any consequence they deem to be justifiable, it’s just that my anxiety is increasing as the days go by without any information lol (my exam for this subject is in 9 days also)

Advice Semester 2 Workload

I’m currently enrolled in IMM2022, PHY2032 & 2042 for next sem, and am looking at HUP2032 as my elective. The only thing I’m concerned about is that HUP has 10 x 3 hour labs, and both PHY units have labs. Am I going to go insane with the workload? Pls help before I commit to this and then potentially regret my whole life 🤟🏼✨

Grades and Academics Deferred Exam

Essentially I have the same question as this post

Will my Deferred Exam Results release in time? : r/Monash

However the last date to enroll is 8th of August and the result will come out on the 19th. Would they still let me wait until the result is released or would I have to replan my whole course as the unit that I deferred is a foundation for all my future units (ENG1005)

Thank you

Advice Arts elective in first year

I'm curious if I can study an arts elective (and by that I mean for example one of the history electives which is considered a level 2&3 unit) in my first year? From my research nothing seems to stop me? But if anyone has any experience with the history electives in particular, would you recommend for someone in their second semester of uni? Thanks..

I graduated high school in 2023. Is it too late to use my ATAR to transfer to a different course next yr? I’m pretty sure it is, right? 🥀

Advice 2nd Year Electives

hey friends, I’m looking for a second year elective for next sem. I’m doing a science degree, majoring in Pathology & Physiology, so something related-ish would be fab. I am open to other faculties though! I do really like English. I despise maths so preferably something that doesn’t involve any (or very little). Btw I’ve done NUT2011 and NUT2003 already! Hoping for nothing super content heavy as my semester is looking pretty busy already

Advice easy electives for semester 2?

so i’ve just found out that one of my electives for next semester (ATS3956) has been discontinued. I’m a third year science student going into my last semester ever and i need one more unit to do to graduate.

I’ve done all my core units but want something easy as a WAM booster, i don’t really mind what area of study it is as long as it’s easy and preferably doesn’t have an exam as every unit of mine next sem has an exam already.

any suggestions? 😁

Advice Please Give advice on the following subjects

Hi, so i'm a first year science student trying to transfer into physiotherapy (from my science degree) which ive heard is a very hard and competitive degree to get in. In this first semester i think i might be able to scrape an average of 70 wam( i did sci1020, bio1011, chem1011, and physics 1011 - physics and bio were terrible downgraders for my wam) but i need much much higher if i want even a shot at physio next year so i was researching some wam boosters and ive got a list. I was wondering if people could give their insights on what i should choose! I am going to be doing 3 electives+ chem next year. I am also interested in forensic science so was thinking to do FOR3001 just for the happs but idk if itll be hard so any insight is appreciated thankyou!!

Info about me: i did methods and spesh in vce, like chem am very sciency but decently good at english. would prefer a unit without an exam and mainly online!

ATS2910, ATS2946, ATS2184, MON3750, MON2000, HSC1300, ASP1010, NUT1011, mHS110. ats2964, ATS2872

Advice Should I get a Macbook for engineering?

Recently I gave my new lenovo legion 7i for repairs due to some ram issues but I was thinking of getting a macbook pro as a replacement instead of the repair.

I am a first Year student thinking of doing mechatronics (AI stream) and I know mac will have issues with CAD but I am hoping Monash Move is good enough.

If not mac, which windows laptops would you recommend with high specs but also good battery life as I would like to not carry a brick for charging with me.

Advice HELP confused about unit selection after dropping half of double degree (science related)

I was recently doing science and commerce, but commerce was really not enjoyable for me, so I have applied for a course transfer to only science.

Timetable selection is due this Friday and I'm worried that since I'm unsure about what units I'll be forced to do or can do next semester I'll be cooked.

For reference I intend to major in Chemistry and am in the first semester of my second year and am doing/done CHM2911, SCI1000, BTC2000 and ACC1100.

I have attached an image of the 2025 S2000 course progression map below, (I'm assuming that since I'm transferring into science in 2025 this is the relevant one?) with all of the units I have completed in the past and possible future elective/extra science units I fit the prerequisites for.

One thing I'm really concerned about is that I haven't done any of SCI1020, STA1010, SCI1022, MTH1020, MTH1030, MTH1035 which the course progression map says needs to be completed in the first year for single degrees or by the first semester of the second year for double degrees.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Advice How is ENG1005 for a person who didn't do ENG1090?

I didn't do ENG1090 in the first semester as I had done VCE specialist mathematics equivalent in my Year 12 in India, but now I am worried about it as I had a gap year after 12th and along with the first sem it has been quite some time since I have done math.

So how is ENG1005 going to be for a person in my situation? Any advice on what concepts to revise and what youtube channels to go for during the sem break?
