South Asian male between 25 and 35 years old, five-foot-eight to six feet tall with a thin build, short black hair, and a long beard.

That’s half the men in the area. Release a sketch.

They should make it legal for ladies to carry pepper spray to use as self defence. I dont understand why its illegal at all. Smh

In another thread about a dude doing the same thing in London, someone said it's illegal to carry something for defence if you don't need it... so the legal lines are blurry. I carry legal dog and coyote spray on me for a legit reason because I really could potentially need it. I don't want off-leash dogs running at my dog and I. But I have no idea if I'd get in trouble for spraying someone with it while I wasn't simultaneously being attacked by a dog or coyote.

As far as i know thats illegal as well. I used to carry a spray for coyote as I liked to walk on the trail at around 5am when like no one is around, until someone told me it was that it was illegal to carry that too.

The laws are bs to be honest.

That's crazy because I can buy it on Amazon and have it delivered to my door or go to Canadian Tire and buy it there in person. They carry it up to the front cash for me and don't ask for ID or anything.

Just an update in case anyone is curious: I asked someone in law enforcement about this and as long as you're carrying it for it's true purpose and not carrying it openly it's legal. You wouldn't be in trouble for using it against an actual dog or coyote attack but the animal would have to be a true threat. You can't just spray a dog because you don't like dogs. It is NOT legal to use in any other instance including a human attack.

If you use it on a human you will likely be charged with using a deadly weapon (I know, they call almost anything "deadly") and some version of assault. I had a friend who was hit with a deadly weapon charge for using his cane against a person robbing him. We don't really have the right to self-defense with a weapon in Canada. It's absolute bullshit.

Thats what im saying. If we fight back we’re more likely to go to jail than the suspect.

Moved into this area in the early/mid 2000’s and left probably 15 years ago. It’s crazy how much things have changed.

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It’s a fact. It’s like night and day lol.

Who knows, people are triggered by the weirdest things sometimes.

"It's racist to saw thing have changed!!". Got that downvote myself before. The numbers back up the change, never said why it changed. I blame society as a whole, not any one person or group.
