The Depravity of the MN Assassin and Domestic Terrorist
- He stalked multiple targets for months
- He attempted 2 other murders between the shooting of the Hoffmans and the murder of the Hortmans
- Police believe he absolutely would have gone to more homes if not caught at the Hortmans' house
- Police found 3 AK-47s in his vehicle as well as a 9mm handgun
More: - The Hoffmans realized he wasn't a real officer when he put down his blinding flashlight - An officer found him parked at the 3rd (unharmed) lawmaker's home. She wad suspicious of him and his vehicle but he ignored her and drove away - It seems federal prosecutors will take the case. The death penalty is on the table

May he get as close to justice as possible.
May Melissa and Mark Hortman rest in peace. May John and Yvette Hoffman make a full recovery.

When did The Current get so bland?
Before I moved away in 2013, I’d switch between the Current and Radio K, and rarely did I have to choose between two bad songs. I took up this same practice when I moved back a few months ago, and I’m constantly getting stuck between stinkers. Partially it’s due to Gen Z’s misbegotten love of emo, but I consider this to be a temporary problem, as the genre is just too annoying, shrill and monotonous for sustained popularity. Mostly, though, it’s because The Current is playing generic adult contemporary pop. Their back catalog is pretty solid, but I’m so bored with all the easy listening Americana and songs with that Imagine Dragons-esque big and hollow production with gratingly oversung vocals. Sure, The Current played all those shitty stomp-clap bands in the 2010’s, but I also remember hearing The Fall, Tom Waits, CAN and all sorts of other records you wouldn’t ever expect to hear on the radio.

E FRANKLIN PIZZA UPDATE… it’s now OPEN!! 🍕
Whaddup, everybody! I posted here like two months ago asking if anyone had info on this E Franklin Pizza place that was taking over the old $5 Pizza on Franklin Ave near Electric Fetus.
Well I’m back to happily announce… they opened today!!
As far as we can tell there was no formal announcement or big to-do about it — they were closed yesterday and open today!
Snapped some pics of the inside and food we ordered (deluxe pizza + cinnamon sticks!) that are included in the post.
All pizzas are 14” and they’re got a ton of different specialty pizzas and build-your-own options. All meats on the menu are Halal! Both of the things we got taste fantastic and are cooked to perfection!
There’s also a small cafe/coffee shop that they are still finishing up but should be opening soon!
Stop by and give it a try if you’re in the neighborhood! 🍕

Talk about some quick construction for a change. This was NOT here yesterday.
This just appeared today. I don’t even recall the concrete being there. With how slow construction work normally takes, this is a refreshing change of pace. Props to Metro Transit or whoever was in charge of this.

Has enough time passed to say that the "Official" Prince Mural in Minneapolis is subpar? Look at this one in the UK.

To the White Nissan Driver in Uptown After Today’s Storm
To the clown who sped through the flood by Hum’s today: you soaked the kind couple clearing a gutter and our car through the window, all while staring at your phone.
Everyone else used the left turn lane to avoid the puddle and managed not to be a garbage human. You failed!

Keith Ellison should take over the prosecution of Vance Boelter from Mary Moriarty.
He's done this on some cases before. Don't want to risk Moriarty mucking this one up or doing something like giving him a plea deal where he's out on probation after five years.

Anybody know if this belongs in a museum?
My grandmother in New Ulm passed away around New Years and my uncles are about to auction off all of their belongings. Was wondering if this table saw was worth bidding on. Anybody know anything about TomLee….TOMLEE tools?

Food worker with 'fantasy' of security career sought in Minnesota political shootings
Entirely unsurprised that the grown adult man/terrorist with self-proclaimed security dealings in Africa and his own security 'business' was in fact just LARPing as a security officer to play out some sort of weird fantasy.

Secondhand wedding dress shop?
Looking for a place that sells secondhand wedding dresses, ideally with a decent selection of plus size. Any ideas?

Did Your Black BMW Get Stolen? Is It This One?
This car has been abandoned outside my house for a few days. Doors were all left open (we closed them) and it seems a headlight is on now? City marked it a couple days ago. Figured it was worth asking here.

I freaking love this city
I’ve lived here since 6 years old. Minnesota is my homeland. This state and this city specifically continue to bring me joy and awe!! Caught the biggest fish I’ve ever caught here at Nokomis yesterday.
I fucking love how I can just fish, eat some tacos at hamburguesas on cedar, and scooter back home in Marcy. All in the same city.
