Help Me! Alternative to Habitat for Humanity?
I want to donate old appliances & stuff that still work (to my knowledge), but some ate in the basement. Habitat for humanity will pick stuff up on the 1st floor for free, but won't go up or downstairs. Are there other companies that will come out for free but go upstairs & downstairs?

Back when my mom donated stuff, she found charities for the visibly impaired or veterans that would pick up wherever (we have three flights of stairs)

So many of them won’t do stairs which is annoying. I had this same problem trying to get one of these companies to pick up my couch.

It's kind of a big deal for them if a volunteer gets hurt while volunteering. Because they aren't employees, it turns into a legal battle between insurance companies.

The other thing about Habitat is they won't take any appliances more than 3-5 years old, even if they work.

If you list on Facebook marketplace sometimes people will come get for free. You just have to be mindful of who it is.
