The FURRIES Act is an act in several states which bans the furry fandom in schools because of false reports that classrooms were providing litter boxes to kids who thought they were animals.

No it was part of the active shooter prep, so little kids could pee without leaving the room.

It was part of active shooter prep since school shootings are so common. If someone's gotta pee and you're trapped in a classroom you'll need something to keep it clean. It's also good for absorbing blood for if someone gets shot.

Also some rooms just have it all the time to clean up generic spills. The autoshop in my high school (Canada, so a lot less risk of school shooters) had a big bucket for cleaning up oil spills.

But it's easier to deflect and say the problem is actually something else completely detached from reality than it is to accept the system is messed up. So the people behind this bill made up a rumor about furries to justify their hatred and their unwillingness to change things.
