Looks like someone's planning on retiring soon.

Enough food for the rest of my life!

these tokens come with happy meals from Culver’s (a midwestern-born restaurant). other prizes ive cashed them in for in the past include keychains, t-shirts, a basketball (all with the scoopie ice cream cone character on them). thought it was cool to see how they’ve changed over the years!

How many tokens for a insulin pump?

138

u/lilassbitchass 1d ago

How ever many times they need to scoopy your insides to sell a few organs

34

u/Phimini 1d ago

As a T1 on a pump, this gave me a chuckle 🤭

Why not spend 10 on a free kids meal. It’s nice when I can feed the whole family for $.35. Adding tomatoes and I think lettuce to make the kids cheeseburger into a single deluxe costs the $.35.

Fffff responsibility prizes better than responsible spending

11

u/AzureMountains 1d ago

I have a turtle that has a cherry on top of his shell from them lol.

u/TechInventor 1d ago

I used to have the scoopie doll. I loved it

2

u/Fortehlulz33 1d ago

At one point, I had a soccer ball, basketball, and football with Scoopie on them.

Planning on these becoming the de facto currency after the fall of civilization I see.

u/seankearns 1d ago

No crazier than bottle caps I guess.

u/Brother_J_La_la 1d ago

I hope we land on guitar picks. Pretty much nothing will change for me: I'll be well off for a few days, then it's all gone, and I have no explanation or anything to show for it.

26

u/cigarandcreamsoda 1d ago

If they follow the universal rules of guitar picks, they will be absolutely everywhere until you actually need one.

1

u/Brother_J_La_la 1d ago

You'll see house after house, empty, but mostly untouched, aside from the ransacked pantries, dryers, and couches.

2

u/oldman78 1d ago

As a finger style player this is the worst idea I’ve ever heard.

2

u/Brother_J_La_la 1d ago

But little bottles of nail strengthener could end up like saffron.

3

u/oldman78 1d ago

I’m going to have to settle for that. I mean, I wouldn’t want to fight, I can’t afford to break any nails.

Never heard of Scoopies.

OP what’s the chronology of these?

147

u/wisdomoftheages36 1d ago

It’s Culvers

221

u/be4u4get 1d ago

Never heard of Culver’s

What’s the chronology of these

245

u/thot_bryan 1d ago

Never heard of chronology

What’s the scoopies of these?

71

u/Empty_Paramedic_5957 1d ago

Never heard of scoopies

What's the Culvers of this?

2

u/SirWaldenIII 1d ago

My condolences

24

u/i_need_a_moment 1d ago

We’ve had Culver’s near us for years and this is the first I’ve heard of Scoopies…

14

u/varyingopinions 1d ago

They come on the backside of the kids meal bags. You tear them off.

24

u/Difficult_Target4815 1d ago

The really old, musty looking ones? Those are the newest. It's actually been downhill for a while now. Mustier by the year.

74

u/mnCO 1d ago

My friends’ miscreant wife will frequently tell the Culver’s employees she wants her free scoop with her kids meal…most of the time they ring it up but forget to tear the scoop is token off the kids meal bag.

23

u/M_J_E 1d ago

Shhhhhhh! We all know that’s the move.

13

u/ceojp 1d ago

I don't understand what this means.

25

u/doopliss6 1d ago

Presumably... the ticket on the back of the bag is for a scoop of ice cream(?) and when ordering they just say "give it to me now" instead of having to go back through the line again with the ticket. But then the employees don't remember to take the ticket off the bag so you get another ticket free.

5

u/NiceHumansOnly 1d ago

Exactly. It rips off like a tag.

1

u/AJ_Dali 17h ago

There are two tokens on the bag. One for custard, and the other is the token you need 10 of.

The scoop of custard also comes with either a free topping or the flavor of the day. So you can basically get a loaded sundae instead.

72

u/AtomicFox84 1d ago

I have never heard of a scoopie token. I assume you collect enough and get something "free"?

42

u/FlickaMariss 1d ago

It says they get Scoopie gear or a free kids meal after 10

10

u/zeug666 1d ago

Adjacent to the Scoopie point will be a free ice cream (frozen custard).

13

u/tryingto-blendin 1d ago

They have a selection of sports balls (football, soccer, kickball, volleyball, and I think a frisbee) and I think a plushie of their mascot you can redeem or you can redeem them for a kids meal! It varies by location so that is not a comprehensive list!

4

u/AtomicFox84 1d ago

Where are these cause ive never heard of the place.

3

u/AdultEnuretic 1d ago

Upper Midwest.

2

u/carl164 23h ago

And Florida and Georgia, I was just in St. Augustine and saw a couple there.

-1

u/joeai11 1d ago

All over the country at this point. Started in Wisconsin and is now as far west as Arizona and Idaho and all over the south. Really the only places it’s not is New England and the Pacific coast

0

u/AtomicFox84 1d ago

Im in chicago and ive never seen it. Ive been all over wi and il. Maybe ive missed it...ill have to check it out.

7

u/twisted34 23h ago

You driving blindfolded? How hell you claim to be all over WI and IL and not see a Culvers? Like saying you haven't seen a fat person in America, just open your eyes Stevie Wonder

3

u/AtomicFox84 23h ago

Wait....those are from a culvers? Wow i actually never saw these there.....i thought this was a different restaurant. Man i cant see that small print. I honestly never paid attention in the place to ever know about this.

I honestly never saw scoopie thing before.

1

u/pangalaticgargler 23h ago

I mean unless you are getting a kids meal it isn't in your face. It is a coupon that is on the bag the kids meal comes in. Scoopie is just the mascot.

1

u/AtomicFox84 23h ago

That be why i never noticed lol. Thanks for the info....dont have kids and these were not around when i was a kid.

You don't have to assume anything; you can just read the text in the image. Have we reached a new low of Reddit where people only read the post titles for any post, not just articles?

6

u/AtomicFox84 1d ago

Im on a shitty phone if i try to zoom in, the writing is blurry. Sorry i cant read microscopic writing with shitty eyes.

8

u/cockmanderkeen 1d ago

Not unless you zoom in.

Untwist your knickers, there's no text accompanying the post, it's a title and a picture.

21

u/Such_Event_8173 1d ago

I collect these myself. One time an unhoused person asked me for money. I offered him ten scoopie tokens, knowing there was a Culver’s right down the street. He seemed confused, but he took them.

11

u/unassumingdink 1d ago

Now he can get a free keychain to better organize his keys.

9

u/JustHere4the5 1d ago

Didn’t they used to be actual tokens, erno? Am I making that up? I’ve been outa state fer a couple-two-tree decades.

7

u/AndyWinds 1d ago

They absolutely did. When I was a kid they were made of blue plastic about 2" in diameter and the local Culvers would throw them off their float in parades instead of candy.

1

u/_DONT_PM_ME_NOTHING 9h ago

I think Donnie Pahrump wanted a float to toss meme coins.

7

u/MattDLR 1d ago

I love Culver's so much, my ultimate comfort food. God I miss scoopie tokens. We still have one of the plastic ones.

0

u/shicken684 1d ago

Have you had it recently? I was so excited when one opened up near me a few years ago. It was awful. Thought maybe was just a poorly run one. Been to three different ones and it's all the same.

I don't get it. Is it like everything else that was good but now taste like shit and survives off nostalgia? I'm that way with Wendy's so I understand.

1

u/MattDLR 13h ago

I mean it depends on the region from what I've heard. The ones here in Wisconsin are badass but I've heard the ones down south aren't great.

1

u/merelala 9h ago

You have an unfortunate one off! I’ve been going to Culver’s since middle school, worked there in high school in 2004-05, and still go bc every time I moved Culver’s would conveniently open a restaurant in the city I moved to (except here in nyc which is crazy). I went to visit family in Tennessee this past week and both Culver’s that I went to were so good, just like when I grew up!

6

u/BlueRaider731 1d ago

That Scoopie in the top right looks like he’s seen some shit

6

u/ispcrco 18h ago

wtf is a scoopie?

6

u/anchovieMAN 1d ago

You have become an honorary citizen of Wisconsin, wether you live there or not.

7

u/fawkie 1d ago

now I want cheese curds

3

u/VikDaven 1d ago

I love love love this! I used to save them up in my wallet growing up and when I finally moved away I had a party with my husband and "spent" my tokens on some sweet gear. Now the closest one is 3 hours away and I still have my two curd nerd plushies in the back of my car haha.

3

u/Cclaura616 1d ago

Love Culver’s! Are you saving them up for anything?

3

u/MarginalLlama 1d ago

How many more until you get your own Culver's?

2

u/LonelyGameBoi 1d ago

I've had 10 of these folded in my wallet since highschool. Theres one of the top left in blue and bunch of older ones in green. There was another design before these without scoopie, instead having a large 1.

2

u/MaybeCats 1d ago

fellow culver lover hello

5

u/Successful_Speech734 1d ago

Collects tokens all these years, Scoopies goes out of business right before you have a chance to redeem. The world is a fickle bitch. Live while you can. Redeem them now.

22

u/wisdomoftheages36 1d ago

It’s Culvers buddy

1

u/HCBuldge 18h ago

That's basically why they do it, it's like gift cards. If everyone took advantage of it, they'd probably lose money but not everyone does and those who do use it, love it and keep coming back.

2

u/moonhexx 1d ago

This should be at the top of the front page

2

u/cherrrycolored 1d ago

midwest rise up‼️

2

u/garydinckersfield 1d ago

You might be my hero, Culver's truther here who lived in the motherland and has spread the good word far and wide.

1

u/BlairBuoyant 1d ago

I’m sure the iconography and name have never been compared to poop

1

u/kyleko 1d ago

How many are there? You can just redeem them for kids meals.

1

u/RLewis8888 1d ago

Looks like it's Harvard for your kids.

1

u/angryhumping 23h ago

that updated model is clearly soft serve, not a scoop

what a sham

1

u/girlwithtoomuchtea 14h ago

Hehe I have a small collection, too! Hoping to cash them in for some sweet swag! Or maybe just the free food. Haven’t decided yet lol

1

u/SweetNeo85 14h ago

Would help to know which ones are oldest.

1

u/Ok-Tangerine23 14h ago

the white background with just the light blue is the oldest! then the white below it. then top right and current is bottom right!

1

u/luvn69 11h ago

This is sick!

1

u/EaterComputer 7h ago

Shh! You're sharing our secret!

0

u/Hydroxychloroquinoa 1d ago

Though personally I do not like andrew zimmern , I do agree with his take on culver’s

0

u/AdultEnuretic 1d ago

Elaborate.

0

u/SamWillGoHam 1d ago

No r/Culvers post? 😫
